Hotel Helios

I stumbled on this fantastic boutique hotel in Santa Margarita. Searched for a hotel in Portofino and looked in Santa Margarita. The rooms were more reasonable and only a few miles from Portofino. This hotel is located in the marina area (great location). The pool is excellent and it is beachfront. The rooms are very clean and the staff is very professional and courteous. Only a 35 minute train ride from Genoa. I would highly recommend this location, small cozy town and hotel.

The hotel is perfectly located right on the beach, offering beautiful views and easy access to the sea. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend booking a room on the first floor with a terrace overlooking the bay — it's a fantastic way to start and end your day. The room was spacious, equipped with both a ceiling fan and air conditioning, and was cleaned twice daily, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was fresh and tasty . A perfect base for exploring the surrounding area

This is not a four star hotel. It is at best a fair three stars. The good: the location is convenient, it is clean and well air-conditioned, and (at least some of) the rooms have enormous balconies with great views. But the rooms are small and dated, the entire hotel needs to be renovated, and the staff were not friendly. The vibe is not great at this place. I would not recommend staying here unless the price can’t be beat.

Fantastic stay in Santa Margherita at Hotel Helios . Room was always spotless (serviced twice daily)and spacious with an amazing terrace to take in the spectacular views of the Ligurian coast . Breakfast fare and the service was also excellent . Their barman and cocktail mixing extraordinaire Georgio was such a delight to deal with and boy was he good at his job . The beach club seats , included in the room cost , was well run and the option of the pool and the sea for swimming was super enjoyable . It was such a relaxing enjoyable stay and we will be checking out Hotel Helios next time we stay in Santa Margherita

This hotel has an amazing location on the beach with a pool and deck chairs. The staff was super helpful and very pleasant. Very clean with new towels with the evening turn down. Overall a great experience. Good breakfast as well.
