I had a pleasant solo trip here, but this hotel is not the 5-star luxury it claims to be. It's more like a basic 4-star at best. The best parts were the staff, who were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the fact that the hotel was always very clean. However, the hotel needs a major update. The whole place feels dated, and small things like a rusty bottle opener in my room confirmed it's not a luxury standard. The air conditioning was poor, which made sleeping difficult. The food buffet offers a wide variety of choices, but the dishes are often too oily, and I suspect that unutilized food from breakfast is used later for dinner salads. Additionally, the pool is small and shallow, and the entertainment is primarily geared towards the 40+ years old crowd. Bottom line: manage your expectations about a 5-star experience. If you can find a good discount, it’s a decent place to stay.

Das Hotel liegt fast am Ende von Cala Millor und liegt in einer ruhigen Zone. Zum Meer sind es ca. 5min zu Fuss. Kostenlose Parkplätze gibt es genug rund um das Hotel. Um in die Fussgängerzone zu kommen, muss man gute 10-15 min laufen. Rund um das Hotel sozusagen keine Restaurants und Bars. Das Personal im ganzen Haus ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es war sicherlich damals ein gutes 5 Sterne Hotel, doch jetzt garantiert nicht mehr. Die Zimmer absolut sauber aber alt und die Matratze hatte auch schon bessere Tage. Die Zimmer mit Terrasse bieten keine Privatsphäre und sind von allen Seiten einsehbar. Der Pool ist nicht direkt am Hotel und kann durch eine Unterführung erreicht werden. Die Fotos bei den Anbietern täuschen! Das Frühstück sehr umfangreich mit Möglichkeit frische Eiergerichte zu bestellen. Der Kaffee aus dem Vollautomaten und nicht wirklich gut. Es wird nichts serviert und man darf sich selber an den vielen Buffets bedienen. Angeblich wird das Hotel im Dezember 2025 renoviert.

Für Personen Ü60 hervorragend, für Familien mit Kindern oder Singles etwas langweilig und zu gediegen. Über dem Außen-Pool fehlt eine Bedachung, Kinder sind ungeschützt in der Hitze. Der Fitnessraum ist eigentlich keiner, dort befinden sich nur 3 Cardiogeräte und der Kellerraum ist klein und wenig ansprechend, keine Möglichkeit für Muskeltraining. Die Hotel-Anlage ist im Vergleich sehr ansprechend und gepflegt. Das Essen ist hervorragend, man bekommt allerdings einen festen Platz zugewiesen, was das Erlebnis beeinträchtigen kann (je nachdem, wo man sitzen soll). Das Hotel ist ca. 5 Minuten Fußweg vom Strand entfernt, so dass man dem ganzen Lärm an der Promenade nicht ausgesetzt ist, dort wird tatsächlich manchmal ab 7:30 Uhr mit Ghettoblaster Fitness vor den Hotelzimmern veranstaltet. Die Hotel-Services muss man sich erfragen, es finden sich hier nirgends Informationen auch zu den Kosten. Bei der Abrechnung aufpassen, ob man nicht Kosten anderer Gäste zugewiesen bekommt, da an der Bar jeder nur die Zimmernummer, nicht den Namen, angeben muss!

This was our first visit to the Hipocampo Palace and we will definitely return. The whole experience from check in to check out was brilliant. The stand out has to be the excellent food quality and the very spacious pool area. The food was the best buffet hotel food we have had and we have been to lots of hotels. The pool area is lovely and there is so much room between the beds you never feel like your space is being invaded by others. All the staff were brilliant and so friendly. We stayed in a suite in the annex building. So quiet and relaxing and well worth paying the extra. If I had to criticise one thing it’s the insistence of wearing long trousers for gents at dinner. It seems a bit dated now to do this but I understand why they do it as where do you draw the line with shorts for men. I simply changed into shorts after dinner.

Points positifs : • La propreté est irréprochable, tout est très bien entretenu. • Le coin piscine est spacieux, il y a toujours de la place, la piscine est très belle et à une température idéale, pas froide du tout. • Le petit déjeuner est excellent : un très large choix, varié et de très bonne qualité. Rien à redire. • Nous n’avons pas testé les repas du soir car nous n’étions pas en demi-pension. Points négatifs : • Nous sommes arrivés tard, vers 23h, et avons dû transporter nous-mêmes notre valise d’un bâtiment à l’autre, ce qui n’est pas habituel pour un hôtel 5 étoiles. • À notre arrivée, le gel douche dans la salle de bain était vide et n’a jamais été remplacé pendant tout notre séjour de 5 nuits. Nous avons dû utiliser le shampoing et l’après-shampoing à la place. Ce sont pourtant des détails qui font la différence dans un établissement de ce standing. • Les deux premiers matins, j’ai été réveillé par les cris d’enfants dans la chambre voisine. La gestion du changement de chambre a été maladroite : on m’a proposé une chambre moins bien située sans vérifier que les occupants bruyants partaient le jour même, ce qui a généré des démarches inutiles. • Enfin, il faut savoir qu’il y a beaucoup d’enfants dans l’hôtel, que ce soit autour de la piscine ou dans les chambres, ce qui peut engendrer du bruit.
