Safragell Ibiza Suites & Spa

We were visited the restaurant for dinner last night. The environment is beatifool, the dinner was acceptable, but needs some evolution. The service was excellent. The main reason was Marco who served us like family friends. The evening was so nice because of his excellent kind service.

Best place ever for service, spa,food and for the place!! For relax and cut a bit the business mindset that we have in our ordinary!! The place is amazing and the vibe there is just outstanding, I have a room with pool, and was just super ! Really love this place And I will come back!

A genuine review from a couple who are in hospitality in the UK. This was my first visit to Ibiza at the tender age of 49! This visit was part of my birthday celebrations. My wife and I wanted a four-day break (child-free) to switch off and recharge, as we both work full time and have busy lives! I researched for months and came across Safragell, and what a gem it is! As a hotel with the setting, location, suites, layout, pool area, spa and cleanliness, it’s luxury and such a peaceful and beautiful spot. It’s very private, secluded, and you feel at ease. We saw three other couples in the 4 days we were there! So why have you not given it 5, I hear you say… Well, I wanted to, but I cannot ignore the unfortunate journey we had two weeks before arriving and the inconsistencies during our stay. We were told after I chased that the restaurant that was there, a collaboration with a well-known chef, would not open and they could not offer any evening food! This was a massive surprise to us and not something we wanted to hear, as two out of 4 nights we were going to dine at the restaurant on two out of four nights. The restaurant was a massive draw to the hotel as the chef was very well known in the area, and the food and setting looked great on the website. My worry was that if I had not chased the team for a menu then I am not sure I would have been notified which is not great. We found inconsistencies with breakfast each day. They offer a set menu with choices for each course, but it really did depend on who was cooking, as each day, the dish on the menu was different, with different ingredients and presentation. This was also the same as the daytime snack menu; again, this was served differently. We found this unacceptable for a hotel that charges premium prices and purveys to be five stars, as it should with all it offers. It shouldn’t be hard to get what is provided consistently and the same each morning. It’s clear they are still in transition, maybe from the chef and restaurant team not continuing, but please get the specs and offerings the same for breakfast and snacks. Finally, there were some inconsistencies with the service. Depending on who was working. Yesterday, there were no towels around the pool; the other 3 days, they were on the beds. We and other guests had to go and search for no service for drinks or any staff to be seen. Again, a real shame, as the first 3 days there was a chap called Marco who had just started. He was excellent! Very personable, genuine and oozed good service. There was also Veronica at breakfast, again, a gorgeous smile, and she did her best each morning… Would I go again? I’m not sure. I’d need reassurances that the above was sorted and that the offering is more consistent with the hotel's offering. Don’t get me wrong—the place is stunning! It's simply beautiful and so peaceful and tranquil. If the service and food matched, it would be a real gem and I’m sure a lot busier…

My partner and I checked out of Safragell Ibiza just this morning, unfortunately it was an incredibly disappointing stay at a beautifully located, clean hotel which we had high hopes for. To start with- the appalling lack of service and major lack of staff! Altogether we saw 3 staff on the entire property, and we very rarely even saw 1 or 2 on the property at anytime! During our 4 night stay we had to call reception 3 times if not more at anytime to contact them for any reason, everyday. This includes simply trying to order a taxi or a coffee to the room (a cup of coffee would take 45+ minutes to reach us). My flight was this morning and I was due to leave the hotel at 7:30am- after several unanswered calls to reception to ask for help with my luggage I finally went there myself just to see every single door locked, lights off and no one in sight! Not one staff, not at reception, the kitchen, anywhere! The gravel and stairs at the hotel made it absolutely impossible for me to bring my luggage down myself. I called a taxi and the kind taxi driver offered to help me move my luggage from the room, at which point 1 staff turned up and still took the taxi driver to help her. If we wanted an airbnb we could’ve rented a beautiful apartment for a fraction of what we paid and also had no service there. But at least that would have been our choice. We chose to stay at Safragell as they apllaud themselves as a hotel with high end service for 5* star prices but deliver 2* service, or less. Moving on to the second issue- we had booked one a suite for €1200 a night which was accompanied by its own private pool. We were quick to learn that we had absolutely no access to this ‘private pool’ as the lawn surrounding it was completely infested with wasp nests and wasps (I tried to attach a video to this review but unfortunately TA only allows me to upload photos, the photo I have is a screen shot of the video that doesn't show a fraction of the wasps as its blurs them in with the grass.. but if anyone would like the video they can have it). Our concerns were dismissed for days as we got told ‘this is nature’- if the hotel prioritises ‘nature’ over their income then they shouldn’t miss-sell a suite that has a completely unusable pool as one that actually comes with a pool that is SAFE to use! We were happy to pay for the room but communicated that it was completely unfair to charge for the pool due to the situation, we were only met with rudeness and brushed off. My partner was stung by the wasps 3 times around the lawn area and when he expressed his alarm about this situation, he was responded to by a member of staff who threatened to call to the police if he raised his voice whilst talking. And then.. instead of professionally removing the nests, and after 3 nights (and less than 24 hours before we were due to check out) the staff decided to spray the pool and the lawn with a horrendously scented chemical spray- so much for prioritising ‘nature’!!
