Check-in at Reception was friendly, informative and professional. Indeed every staff member was friendly and very approachable. Four of us were warmly welcomed by Jade Davidson who then accompanied us to our rooms. Rooms were everything you’d want them to be - clean, warm, very comfortable, spacious and very good value for money. In their cosy, quirky Bar, Jade continued to impress by ably multitasking pouring drinks; clearing tables; serving meals and chatting to customers. Jade clearly takes pride in her work and appears to handle pressure in her stride. Breakfast was also very much enjoyed. Our stay was for purpose of attending the fabulous Sanquhar Burns Supper organised by the amazing Sharon King. We’ll certainly hope to return to the Nithsdale for the 2026 Burns Supper!

Convenient for Dumfries House
Hotel was very clean and tidy throughout, staff were exceptionally helpful and the food was good.
Outdoor area at rear was 'functional' but not appealing and the car park could do with a lot of attention.

Good hotel bet a lot requires updating. The 2 rooms I stayed in were very tired.
Staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful.
