We were both very pleasantly surprised by this modern hotel. We had been on a 10 day motorcycle tour and have changed hotels every night and this was day 9. The rooms were unusually large with a funky style of decor and a generously proportioned shower room. The hotel has ample parking and is a 5 minute walk of the town centre with a wealth of shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel does not have a bar but there were drinks available in the fridge in the foyer.

When booking, we requested a double room in the Hotel Le Journal, which was confirmed. On arrival, we were given a room in the Auberge. The confirmation (for the hotel) was automatically generated and worded the same for all rooms. Curtains in the room were stained, the sink was more like a birdbath (small), not a single free socket, the shower obviously works with a continuous flow heater (at least you are almost scalded at first and after 30 seconds you feel like you are standing in ice water). Not a good price-performance ratio at all and not recommended.

If you travel a lot, you've seen some mediocre hotels at overpriced prices. But here there was nothing, absolutely nothing, to criticize. Tastefully furnished rooms, fast WiFi, extensive breakfast buffet and very friendly staff. I will be back.
