Preface: For a detailed review of my stay at Badeschloss Bad Gastein, please watch my comprehensive video review on my YouTube channel Truly Excellent Hotels & More or visit my website (link in my profile). Nestled on Straubinger Platz in the Austrian spa town of Bad Gastein, the historic Badeschloss Bad Gastein, originally built in 1791, has been magnificently restored and reopens in December 2023, combining timeless elegance with modern luxury. The interior design by BWM Designers & Architects is playful and colorful, paying tribute to traditional bathing culture while seamlessly integrating modern elements. The hotel features 102 individually designed rooms and suites spread across the charming historic building and the sleek, modern 13-story tower that complements the timeless architecture. During my stay, I stayed in a 23 square meter standard double room in the tower, which, while a bit compact, features a wooden floor, a king-size bed, two chairs with a small table, an open wardrobe and a flat-screen TV. Room service is offered every other day and the amenities of the rooms and suites are complemented by daily complimentary water, a Nespresso machine, tea-making facilities and free WiFi. The tiled bathrooms feature a sink, integrated toilets, towel warmers and rain showers, as well as high-quality toiletries by German fashion designer Frank Leder. Some of the double rooms, especially on the higher floors, like the room on the 10th floor that I was assigned, offer wonderful views over the Gastein Valley. The hotel restaurant “Aunti Heidi” spoils its guests with a delicious mix of regional specialties and international influences. The breakfast buffet offers a solid selection of freshly baked rolls and bread, pastries, cheese and cold cuts, spreads, cereals, and hot dishes such as sausages, bacon, roasted vegetables, and waffles. A simple selection of fruit, coffee, tea, and orange juice from the dispenser round out the offering. Hot dishes such as fried eggs, omelettes, or pancakes are freshly prepared on request. In the evening, “Aunti Heidi” invites you on a culinary journey through various cuisines. The four-course menu is convincing in terms of taste, even if the presentation is rather simple and the portions are a bit small for sharing. The Badeschloss Bad Gastein also has two bars: the Kaminbar and the Schlossbar. Both offer a cozy atmosphere and serve hot drinks, cocktails, and light snacks. The spa at the Badeschloss Bad Gastein, known as the Alpine Swim Club, extends over three floors and offers a modern wellness experience. The infinity rooftop pool on the 14th floor offers breathtaking panoramic views and a refreshing experience accompanied by
