We stayed in the summer of 2013. The hotel was quaint and equipped with every comfort, was extremely clean, and the food was plentiful and high-quality. The value for money was amazing compared to Italian prices. What do I mean? Prices like these in Italy mean you're just sleeping in a low-end B&B. The hospitality is excellent, and the beer is delicious. We'll be back this summer to spend another 15 days in this magnificent place, accompanied by our 14-year-old puppy, Schatz, who loves it.

I went on holiday to Mühlbach am Hochkönig again this year. This time I stayed at the Hotel Sonnenhof for a week. The hotel is located above Mühlbach, on a sunny slope. From the balcony, you have a direct view of the valley and Mühlbach. The beauty of this location is that when it's already getting slightly dark in the valley in the evening, you can still enjoy the sun on the sunny slope. The Hotel Sonnhof impresses in every respect. A superbly furnished bathroom completes the picture. I can only praise the cleanliness and the staff responsible for it. For a stay at the Sonnhof, I highly recommend booking half-board. Every evening, there are two menus to choose from, plus an additional vegetarian menu. The menu consists of three courses (soup, main course, and dessert). There's also an extensive salad buffet. The kitchen deserves praise, as the dishes were always excellent. Superbly presented, tasty, and plentiful! Breakfast is just as good as dinner. The buffet is extensive and has something for everyone. Fried eggs and bacon are always freshly prepared. Everything you need for a good breakfast is there. We were always served in a friendly and courteous manner. There's really nothing to complain about! We will definitely be back.

We stayed at the hotel over New Year's Eve 2022/23. We were really looking forward to it, as we knew the hotel from previous years. This time, we were greeted by young Eastern European people who spoke German more or less poorly. English was better. The hotel was recently sold and taken over by a Polish company on December 23rd. The staff consisted of non-professionals, some of whom were very helpful (the rest of the staff preferred to be busy with their smartphones rather than looking after the guests). We had booked half-board. There was nothing wrong with the breakfast. However, the dinner could have been much improved. In the evening, we were informed about what was available for dinner. There was always a buffet-style menu: 1 soup, 1 meat dish (e.g., turkey strips), 1 side dish (e.g., potatoes), 1 bowl of salad, and 1 piece of cake or similar for dessert. A vegetarian dish was also offered. I opted for that on the first evening. It was a pancake with spinach. Everything was freezing cold. From the fourth evening onwards, we decided to eat at a different restaurant. There are also some positive things to report: We had a very nice and attentive waitress. We felt sorry for her because she seemed to be the only one who was concerned and was sorry that only a few guests wanted to celebrate New Year's Eve in the hotel. And then the stereo didn't even work. The rooms are comfortable and clean. However, they don't vacuum. There was a match on the carpet the entire week, and it was still there at the end of our stay. The bill for the drinks in the evening was correct down to the last cent. The hotel is right next to the ski bus stop, which can be reached directly from the ski cellar, and the bus always arrived on time.
