This traditional, family-run hotel is located in the heart of the picturesque town of St. Gilgen, only a few steps away from the shore of Lake Wolfgang. Recently renovated and enlarged, Hotel Gasthof zur Post GmbH was built in 1330 and served for a long time as a coaching inn. The foundation and parts of the façade are from the Middle Ages. The building's special charm is reflected in its massive stone walls and floors, the traditional basements and vaults, and the precious wall paintings. At the Gasthof zur Post you can experience the very special ambience of a traditional atmosphere combined with innovative design. Classic elements such as green loden, a great deal of wood and deer antlers are integrated into the rooms in an original way. Many rooms feature impressive open bathrooms. Enjoy a rich selection of delicious regional and Austrian specialities, traditional fare and seasonal delicacies such as asparagus. The freshly caught fish from Lake Wolfgang is especially popular. Traditionsreiches, Inhabergeführtes Hotel in Top-Lage. Erste Adresse am Platze. Hervorzuheben sind insbesondere die großzügigen, urgemütlichen Räumlichkeiten, die tolle Küche und besonders die Herzlichkeit aller Mitarbeitenden! Das Familenzimmer ist sehr zu empfehlen, da es neben der gemütlichen Holzeinrichtung mit Balkon einen separaten Kinderteil besitzt, der durch einen Vorhang abgrenzbar ist. Dieser Teil besitzt neben vielen Fenstern auch einen eigenen Zugang zum Balkon. Wirklich toll konzipiert. Traumhaftes Frühstücksbuffet

Wir waren wegen der Bewertungen und wegen der kleinen Speisekarte dort essen. Leider gab es an diesem Abend nur noch einen Platz draußen. Es waren laut Aussage der Bedienung ein oder mehrere Filmteams da. Nachdem wir unser Essen bestellt hatten, kamen die Teilnehmer der Filmteams nach draußen und belagerten dort den Eingangsbereich und rauchen dort. Die Veranstaltung von denen würde anscheinend kurzerhand nach draußen verlagert. Es war extrem laut und der Zigarettenrauch war auch nicht schön. Die Bedienungen Fragen auch erst nachdem die Teller leer waren, in alles in Ordnung wäre. Essen war gut, aber für den Preis viel zu wenig.

superschönes sauberes Zimmer mit einem Balkon zur Aussicht auf den Wolfgangsee. Die Saunen wurden auf unsere Bitte hin sofort aktiviert, sehen aus wie nagelneu und sind tadellos sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet erfüllt alle Wünsche und das Personal ebenso. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!!!!!

Manchmal sind es Kleinigkeiten, die einen Aufenthalt besonders machen, z.B. der Tablethalter zum Frühstück, um mein E-Paper zu lesen oder die Extraportion Melone und die super leckeren Spiegeleier/gekochten Eier/Rühreier... 😋 Die Lage ist toll, ich hatte einen schönen Blick auf den See.

Nice hotel near the alps, the rooms are big and very comfortable, the breakfast and dinner was also very good! The staff is very helpful and friendly. Supermarket and pharmacy nearby. In summary, it as amazing place to spend the holidays with family.

Liebevoll zubereitete Speisen: ob Fisch, Fleisch oder vegetarisch, ob Suppe oder Salat und auch die Desserts- alle ausprobierten Gerichte waren fein abgeschmeckt und in ausreichender Menge von freundlich aufmerksamen und nicht aufdringlichem Personal serviert! Wir haben mit 4 Personen mehrfach unterschiedliche Speisen der heimischen Küche genossen und werden sehr gerne wiederkommen.

Das Hotel im Großen und Ganzen sehr nett. Küche okay. Rezeption war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Leider hatten wir einen Kellner der enorm ungepflegt und unhöflich war. Daher werden wir auch. Ich mehr kommen, im Hotel Fürberg hatten wir um einiges bessere Erfahrungen.

Es war ein sehr kurzer, aber wunderschöner Aufenthalt. Toller Service super Küche, sehr freundliches Personal, eine schöne Atmosphäre Die Lage im Ort ist hervorragend auf individuelle Wünsche wird eingegangen. Ich werde mit meiner Familie in jedem Fall wiederkommen.

We really enjoyed our dinner there. Fresh and tasty. The waiters were friendly, tried to help translate the menu (written in German only, the new English version was not available until next day as they said). The elderly elegant lady in dirndl was so elegant looking, we could look at her all day, beautiful and her sweet perfume smell !! We had kaiserschmarrn as dessert...very very big portion for one person..lol lol
