Hotel 39 Jamaica

Great place to stay I felt very safe and it was very clean kind staff also.

its a pity not stay due to plan.changed but agent and hotel not permitted to cancel

I found Hotel 39 Jamaica through Chase Travel. Although I gave 4 out of 5, this hotel is fairly new and I fully expect this property to improve. This hotel is on Hip ***** and you can walk the ***** for restaurants, beaches, an art gallery, and shopping. Watching the sunset from the rooftop pool was a lovely experience. The food was wonderful. I enjoyed breakfast, but dinner was amazing! The hotel is fairly new, and some areas are still under construction. The staff is very nice, and many are learning. Check in was slow and there were some issues with my room, which made me late for a pedicure appointment. The pedicure was overpriced; the nail tech was a lovely person and the conversation was great, but the value did not meet the charge. Also, the price quoted was not the actual price because there was a service charge that was not communicated. This charge was located on a flyer, but artwork on the flyer covered the information. My room was nice, well appointed, and the air conditioner was great. However, the view from my room was less than desirable, so I should have requested an upgrade. Also there are a lot of lighted gadgets in the room, so at night the room was illuminated - which was a problem for me. Regardless, whenever I had a problem, the hotel staff handled it with kindness and professionalism.

I stayed at Hotel 39 at the end of May 2025. I had a great experience. The front desk staff was amazing. Brie and Cleo along with the other front desk staff were very funny and helpful. Hotel 39 offers ocean view rooms, I would highly recommend upgrading to this room to further elevate your experience. A complimentary breakfast is served every morning. There are two options for the Jamaican breakfast as well as the standard American options. I had the Jamaican breakfast options that were offered such as: Saltfish, Liver, Saltfish rundown, Mackerel Rundown, Sauteed Saltfish and brown stew chicken. Each of the Jamaican breakfast come with fried dumplings, yam, banana etc. For lunch and dinner options, I would highly recommend checking out the Pelican which is literally right next to Hotel 39. This is a highly rated restaurant for a reason. Doctor's Cave beach is a short walk from the hotel. Entrance fees per visit are $8 per adult and $4 under 12, $7 per chair and $7 per umbrella. Food and drinks at Doctor's Cave beach were pretty reasonably priced. There is a convenience shop before you arrive at Doctor's Cave beach where you can grab water and snacks at a more reasonable price. Harmony Beach Park is a free, public beach park that is also nearby. My family are originally from Jamaica and I have traveled all over the world. The people in Jamaica are the nicest realist people in the world. Please understand differences in culture. Jamaica is laid back, and it not fast paced. They don't act fake so you can leave them a tip. They are themselves, polite, real and laid back. One thing to consider is giving the breakfast staff at Hotel 39 a cash tip since breakfast is complimentary.

It was a great experience and I had fun staying

It is not often that I will write a review on a particular property. However I do feel compelled to let it known that I was completely impressed with the level of service provided at this hotel. It includes friendliness, efficiency, attentiveness of staff and cleanliness of the facility. I am proud to say that whenever I am in the area I will always stay there ,that is if they will have me. I will highly recommend this little gem to anyone travelling to MoBay.
