Nice hotel. I have stayed there several times! It is dark and there are no lights near the hotel. It is a bit scary.

Excellent stay
Great quaint hotel. Kinda travel back in time a little bit, with canopy beds in rooms. And and old writing desk. If your looking for a traditional plain hotel. This isnt it. But if your looking for one with history this is definitely it. Loved my stay.

Still looks a little worn on the outside but inside it’s remarkably clean and comfortable. We only stayed for one night on business and we will be back. Nicely reimagined room. Clean efficient and quiet. There were guests on both sides of us and not so much as a slammed door could be heard. Easy check in. Close to everything in Sandwich. Really a pleasant surprise!

sadly, I will never return to a place where I have stayed for many, many years. after the business was sold to the current owners the property became run down and the mgr. is nowhere to be found. he is difficult to understand and has no sense what it takes to make guests feel welcome and at home. Don't count on even the phone being answered if you call. he dismisses any concerns (in our case loss of commercial power for several hours and never offered to move us to a building that did have power and heat. It wasn't until we and another couple insisted, and it was already dark that he reluctantly agreed. we recently drove by only to see mattresses outside visible to the street. quiet a difference from the lush landscaping and well-maintained buildings that were the mainstay for years.

Photos look great, but they must have been taken 20 years ago. Now everything is very old & worn out. Everything was as clean as you can get old things clean. I picked it for the low price & have to say that the location is very good, but it made us feel like we were camping. We enjoyed our short stay, mainly because we visited with friends that we haven't seen in a long time.
