Fairfield Inn & Suites Richmond Airport

The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, but the hair dryer only works for a short while before it stops working.

We stayed one overnight at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Overall, we’d say that it is great for what it is: a place to park yourself for a night before an early-morning flight or after a late-night flight. The shuttle service to and from the airport was great (once you figured out exactly where the shuttle stops at the airport.) It’s an older property but was quiet and clean. The huge king room had newer carpet and furniture, a microwave , minifridge and a tiny coffee maker. Bed was comfortable. The air conditioner was one of those budget wall units that goes on and off, unfortunately. It was quite dark in the room at night. The bathroom was also large but towels etc were of the budget variety and the shower/tub/shower curtain area was meh. No lotion but that could’ve been a housekeeping oversight. The little gym had some cardio equipment and dumbbells, which was exactly what we wanted and why we chose this property initially over some of the others nearby. The breakfast area was really nice: spacious, with a really nice breakfast spread that went beyond the standard: cereals, yogurts, oatmeal with a ton of fixings, not bad bacon (this is a huge compliment from us!), scrambled eggs, little premade frittatas which were also pretty tasty, make-your-own waffles, bagels and muffins. The coffee was burnt so undrinkable. This dining area also has a little bar featuring Sutter Home wine and some beer options. Staff were jolly amongst themselves and cautiously cordial to us. On the return trip we stayed at another nearby property which was twenty dollars a night cheaper as a comparative and thought the Fairfield was quite a bit nicer in terms of the room quality. So, we’d recommend the Fairfield Inn even though it might be a bit more expensive than the other offerings in the area next to the airport.

I love this the hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. It is very close to the airport and close to food options.

It would have been nice to know there was construction.
