If there were an Olympic gold medal for cleanliness, it would be awarded to Pension Aia. In addition to being spotless, it is an inviting, well-designed space with a welcoming common kitchen. The kitchen has a toaster, a microwave, a fridge, plates, bowls, silverware --- everything a traveler needs. The hosts are lovely and helpful. The location is convenient: it's in Gros, right across the bridge from the old town. Details to be aware of: some rooms don't have a window (the cozy design of the room more than makes up for it, though), and most of the double beds are a couple of inches narrower than the U.S. queen size mattress --- very comfortable, fits two people, but just a tad smaller than you might be used to. And if you have booked a room with a shared bathroom and you're not sure what that means, do not fret: there is a shower in each room. The toilets are indeed shared, but there are plenty of them (4 or 5), each one looks like a private bathroom with a door, they are spotlessly clean, they are in the hall, and you don't hear them. A really comfortable experience overall.
