Hotel Maria Cristina, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Sebastian

Stayed in a Deluxe King Garden View room for five nights. Greeted with wine and a little box of activities for our young son. Generally treated with warmth and an exceptional level of care throughout. From the housekeeping, to the gentlemen assisting with car services, and especially Raul and the rest of the staff at the concierge desk, we could not have asked for a more 5-star experience.

Absolutely fabulous in every respect - friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff, understated luxury, wonderful architecture, fantastic dining options. In short, a genuine world-class experience in a charming location.

We didn’t stay here, but stopped by for a drink after a day of walking round the old town. The cocktails were divine (especially the spicy Mai Thai) and the service was outstanding. We ended up having more than one drink(!) and a few bar snacks (the Iberico Ham was just delicious). And loved the experience so much we booked a table in the Saigon restaurant for dinner later that evening!(see separate review). All in all we really enjoyed our experience at this stunningly beautiful hotel.

The Maria Cristina Hotel in San Sebastián is a true gem. The building itself is beautiful, and its prime location on the river offers picturesque views, all just a super short walk from La Concha beach and the old town! The staff has been incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout the stay. My room was modern and comfortable, with a stunning view over the river that made. Breakfast at the hotel was another highlight. The beautifully decorated room set the perfect tone for the morning, and the food selection was truly impressive. There was something for everyone. However, one thing that stood out as a missed opportunity was the lack of on-site gym, pool, and spa facilities. Considering the grandeur and size of the palace, it was a bit disappointing not to have these amenities available. In summary, Maria Cristina Hotel offers an elegant and comfortable stay with fantastic views and excellent service. While the absence of wellness facilities was a slight letdown, the overall experience was still very positive.
