Arenal Rustic Lodge

The hotel overbooked and did not honor our reservation. They were not helpful at all with trying to accommodate us. It was the Easter long weekend and all other places were full. I suspect they were able to book our room out at a higher rate and that's what they did. Very shady management!

A nice property with friendly family running it. They were accommodating with booking excursions for us. Had a nice experience in their treehouse option. Liked that location is outside La Fortuna town (quiet) but close enough to get to activities and dining. Nice panaderia down the road.

A real hidden gem for relaxing quiet amid exotic birds and beautiful grounds with mainained foot paths. It is rustic but also comfortable, with a modern bathroom, and very clean. Good AC in the room. No TV. Good internet coverage. Cabins are well spaced and positioned for privacy. Breakfast on their terrace is a treat for birders! Laundry service available and reasonable! It's just a mile or two from town with good roads. There is also a night tour available on the property with a local guide. The hosts are very accomdating, and can arrange transportation in the Arenal area and to other places. We loved our 2 nights and will be returning.

I’ve stayed in a lot of treehouses in Costa Rica, and this was by far the best one. Gorgeous view of the jungle, with the sounds of so many birds and other creatures. The treehouse (villa) was beautiful inside,clean, and had all that we needed. It is a family business, and they run it well. Very helpful in finding a hot spring to go to, in suggesting hikes around the area. I would recommend Arenal Rustic Lodge.

Great way to start our vacation! We started our family Costa Rica trip in La Fortuna and decided to stay at Arenal Rustic Lodge. It was a perfect way to start the trip. The lodge is around 15 minutes from town. The family hosts were amazing and incredibly helpful. They offered great advice and were very accommodating. They let my daughters (age 11 and 13) feed the family's horse and they even took us on a hike of a local trail they are starting to develop. We stayed in cabin #5. It had plenty of room for our family of 4. There was a small fridge and fan along with a coffee maker. It was basic but had all we needed. The balcony was a perfect hangout spot to play games and listen to music. A table on the balcony would have been nice along with a few more chairs but we made due. We stayed for 3 nights in April of 2023. We booked all of our tours ahead of time, but the family that runs the lodge was helping other guests with bookings. The lodge is centrally located. Our furthest drive was 30 min to explore hanging bridges. Most activities were within a 15 min drive. The daily "Gallo Pinto" breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. We were able to select our breakfast time every morning which really helped with our daily tours. Our family really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the lodge to other families or couples traveling to La Fortuna.

Good stay in rustic lodge We enjoyed our stay. Bed was very comfortable, the lodge was very private and definitely "in" nature.
