The hotel overbooked and did not honor our reservation. They were not helpful at all with trying to accommodate us. It was the Easter long weekend and all other places were full. I suspect they were able to book our room out at a higher rate and that's what they did. Very shady management!

A nice property with friendly family running it. They were accommodating with booking excursions for us. Had a nice experience in their treehouse option. Liked that location is outside La Fortuna town (quiet) but close enough to get to activities and dining. Nice panaderia down the road.

Beautiful settings/cabin, loud metal roof in rain
Beautiful property in a large forest land. We did self tour of the property during the day andbit was nice. Separate, spread out log cabins. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. We saw a variety of birds hang out by the breakfast area. Three tucans flew by to hang out at a tree top.
Issues:
1. the cabins have metal roof for the property that is in the rain forest. I could not sleep most of the nights becaise of the loud sound of rain all night long.
2. There wasn't enough doormat or provision to clean muddy shoes/feet prior to entering the cabin. The door mat was so small that it got dirty and unusable right away. It was a messy situation inside the cabin.

A real hidden gem for relaxing quiet amid exotic birds and beautiful grounds with mainained foot paths. It is rustic but also comfortable, with a modern bathroom, and very clean. Good AC in the room. No TV. Good internet coverage. Cabins are well spaced and positioned for privacy. Breakfast on their terrace is a treat for birders! Laundry service available and reasonable! It's just a mile or two from town with good roads. There is also a night tour available on the property with a local guide. The hosts are very accomdating, and can arrange transportation in the Arenal area and to other places. We loved our 2 nights and will be returning.

I’ve stayed in a lot of treehouses in Costa Rica, and this was by far the best one. Gorgeous view of the jungle, with the sounds of so many birds and other creatures. The treehouse (villa) was beautiful inside,clean, and had all that we needed. It is a family business, and they run it well. Very helpful in finding a hot spring to go to, in suggesting hikes around the area. I would recommend Arenal Rustic Lodge.

Très bon hôtel
Super séjour en plein milieu de la nature costaricienne. Bani et Juvenil ont été très accueillants et de bons conseils concernant les activités à faire à la Fortuna. Chambre très propre dans les arbres avec néanmoins un wifi un peu faible. Nous recommandons cet hôtel pour les amoureux de la nature.

Great way to start our vacation!
We started our family Costa Rica trip in La Fortuna and decided to stay at Arenal Rustic Lodge. It was a perfect way to start the trip. The lodge is around 15 minutes from town. The family hosts were amazing and incredibly helpful. They offered great advice and were very accommodating. They let my daughters (age 11 and 13) feed the family's horse and they even took us on a hike of a local trail they are starting to develop.
We stayed in cabin #5. It had plenty of room for our family of 4. There was a small fridge and fan along with a coffee maker. It was basic but had all we needed. The balcony was a perfect hangout spot to play games and listen to music. A table on the balcony would have been nice along with a few more chairs but we made due.
We stayed for 3 nights in April of 2023. We booked all of our tours ahead of time, but the family that runs the lodge was helping other guests with bookings. The lodge is centrally located. Our furthest drive was 30 min to explore hanging bridges. Most activities were within a 15 min drive.
The daily "Gallo Pinto" breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. We were able to select our breakfast time every morning which really helped with our daily tours.
Our family really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the lodge to other families or couples traveling to La Fortuna.

Ruhig und naturnah, sehr empfehlenswert
Es war eine unglaublich schöne Erfahrung bei Arenal Rustic Lodge zu bleiben. Die Hütten sind in perfekter Harmonie mit der Natur gebaut; Man hat alles was man braucht, alles ist sauber und es gibt sogar eine neu gebaute Hütte am Baum wo wir sicherlich beim nächsten Besuch bleiben werden.
Das gesamte Areal ist sehr gut gepflegt und sauber, eine bunte Blumenlandschaft, Kolibris fliegen am Balkon und die Familie besitzt schöne Pferde.
Frühstück schmeckt sehr gut und wir durften sogar leckeres lokales Mittagessen probieren.
Das Beste kommt zum Schluss: Juvenal und seine Familie waren sehr gute Gastgeber, immer hilfsbereit, sehr angenehm und nett.

Good stay in rustic lodge
We enjoyed our stay. Bed was very comfortable, the lodge was very private and definitely "in" nature.
