Excellent location, good food and good bar and kitchen staff.
Better information is needed on the tours, we couldn't take the boat ride because of the weather and they wanted to charge us half the cost.

Excellent hospitality—definitely a beautiful and relaxing place for adventurers who want a feel of the culture and topography. The bungalows have amazing sights in view and the jacuzzi is phenomenal. The beautiful pool has an amazing view in sight. The breakfast was simple but very tasty. Many tourist attractions in the vicinity as well. We met the owner and loved her—very personable and hospitable, ready to listen and care for our needs. Highly recommended for adventurers and explorers.

This was my first night in Costa Rica last wee, and it was absolutely amazing. It's a fair drive from SJO, grateful I got a 4x4, and did it during the day. Pouring rain on my wa there, but cleared up as I arrived. Woke up to the view in my profile shot. Robert and staff were so helpful and friendly. Food was excellent. Pool and hot tub were welcome friends after long days of hiking. Monkeys, birds and butterflies were abundant. Views were spectacular from both the restaurant and my villa. 110% recommend. I will be back.

Most amazing experience! The staff, and the owners are the most welcoming, and friendly people. The restaurant at the hotel had the most amazing food, the drinks were amazing, and the views were insane. The hot tub and the pool were a great plus as well. Just a short drive away from some amazing tours and experiences.

Nice hotel with good breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice pool and jacuzzi. Quiet, neighborhood area with views of the lake, volcano and mountains. We went for a walk and it's very close to the Butterfly Conservatory and a local restaurant. About a 30 min drive from the La Fortuna town center.

We are a family of four that stayed in this area for 2 nights prior to a beach vacation on the Pacific coast. The hotel is off the beaten path but it was a great find for us as we used it as a home base for hiking at the Arenal volcano and animal viewing in the La Fortuna area. The rooms were simple with no tvs but very clean and comfortable beds. I loved waking up to the toucans every morning and could view birds out balconies on two sides of our room. My kids and husband used the pool and the breakfast was delicious. Most importantly, the staff were so nice and made our stay extra special. Robert was there for the breakfast and Pablo helped us check in late on a weekend night having only just booked over the phone earlier that day after landing at Liberia airport. We're so glad we found Chateau Arenal and recommend it to all!

My. Family and I stayed here a week. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and excellent small hotel. The view was beautiful and they staff was very friendly and always greeted us with a friendly smile and always went above to make our visit pleasant. If you would like to experience small local Costa Rica I highly recommend this small quiet friendly clean hotel.
