AC Hotel San Rafael Downtown

Super New, clean, nice staff, nice gym, great location, nice breakfast!!! I'll stay again!!!!!

The AC Marriott Hotel in downtown San Rafael is a beautifully designed hotel. It’s very new and the aesthetic is European very clean in its design. The lobby is spacious and a great space to work. They also have a big cozy couch with a fireplace . LThey have a restaurant with a great breakfast. The rooms are very clean and large. I love the way the bathroom and the shower are designed. The hotel itself is accessible to downtown San Rafael as well as it’s very easy to get around all of Marin. I want to give a special shout out to the front desk and specifically Jennifer. Jennifer is an absolute professional who is kind and friendly and most importantly you can count on her to take care of all your needs. It’s the kind of service you look for in a hotel that sets it apart.

My family had to travel to the Bay Area for unfortunate circumstances (family member in the hospital). This hotel was the one bright spot. The location is perfect, the rooms were great and the staff was excellent. We all thought the price for the location was very good. If we have to return, we will definitely stay here again.

Went to above fifth at the rooftop last year for a quick drink before I headed to dinner, service was exceptional and the cosmopolitan was amazing. Luckily I got there right at sunset to enjoy the view, I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area!

The AC in San Rafael is a new hotel with glossy amenities like a gym with Pelotons and a (seasonally closed) rooftop bar but for a frequent traveler it was a big disappointment. I travel light, taking 2-3 days of clothing with the expectation of doing laundry at the hotel where I’m staying. The AC did not have a washer/dryer which is OK for an upmarket place, but surprisingly it did not even have a laundry / dry cleaning service. I was slaying five nights, so had an instant problem. As a Marriott Ambassador I stay over a quarter of any year at Marriott properties and this is the very first that’s offered neither a laundry room nor a laundry service. The Front Desk was not particularly helpful, suggesting I find a dry cleaners locally, which normally don’t off same-day service. I attempted to contact the manager leaving two messages but did not receive a call back. I did eventually find a coin-operated laundry in Corte Madera, but I had a busy schedule and found it time-consuming. Needless to say I won’t be staying at the AC San Rafael again. The Marriott Courtyard Larkspur is a short distance and has a washer/dryer, as does the Sheraton Four Points in Terra Linda.

Excellent hotel in scenic Marin County. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and centrally located for Marin and San Francisco excursions. The staff are helpful (and friendly --thank you, Jennifer), and housekeeping is great. We have stayed here twice, and will return!
