El Alquimista Yoga Spa

This was truly one of the best vacations we’ve had in years. The place is beautiful, the location breathtaking, and the staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. Some of the negative points mentioned in earlier reviews are partly true, but we loved it here so much that we booked a second stay right away. Yes, the warm water in the shower takes a long time to arrive — but given how hot it is outside, we didn’t mind. Yes, the restaurant is overpriced — but honestly, how often do you get to dine in such a stunning setting? Yes, the room we stayed in was open to the elements, and the air conditioning wasn’t very effective (not to mention the energy inefficiency), but we still found it magical. Yes, the waves are big and can be dangerous — you can only go a few meters into the water, and swimming is not advised. However, the sea is calmer in the early mornings and late evenings, and nearby San Agustinillo beach offers gentler conditions. If you have a sense of adventure and love nature, book a room here and enjoy the experience. Highly recommended!

We love El Alquimista! This is probably the most luxurious place to stay in Zipolite and you will not be disappointed. Attention to detail and exceptional service is one of the key points for our recurring stays here. They truly take care of you! Two of our favorite staff are Louis & Cheely. They take excellent care of you in the restaurant and on the beach! After just day one they knew what we drank and what we liked. They just made life so simple and enjoyable for us. Louis had our umbrella and table waiting every day. With him we truly never needed for ANYTHING! Food here is EXCELLENT! The grounds here are just beautiful and well maintained! The front desk guys also do a wonderful job and can schedule transportation for you to and from the airport. Nothing like getting off the plane in HUX and having a smiling face holding a card with your name on it! El Alquimista makes it difficult for you to want to leave the property. The quality of services and food are hard to beat in this small town. The ambience is also just over the top! We loved all the candles at night and the refined vibe! This is our forever place in Zipolite!
