I just cannot understand why anyone would not give this hotel 5 stars!!! We arrived at 1130pm and were provided with a meal and drinks within the restaurant. This excellent service continued through the stay - table service throughout the bars and very friendly staff. Even better the alcoholic drinks are all named premium drinks within the all inclusive and the measures were ridiculous. Cocktails are their speciality and you can even do cocktail making classes . Swimming pools are fab and most of the time we had a pool to ourselves. Was lovely not to have the normal sun bed wars - yes beds get reserved but at sensible times and at lunchtime we still found beds. Gym is one of the best we have used at a hotel. Lots of cardio and resistance machines along with weights. It is 24 hr as well . Outside the hotel is a track that runs alongside the sea cliff. I ran this most days and was a nice 5km route if add a bit of road at the end. There’s lots of people doing the same so a nice environment. Hotel also has tennis court, volleyball, water aerobics , table tennis and pool. We had interconnecting rooms - 316 and 317. They were massive and all beds were proper beds, no sofa beds. View of sea and adult pool. Pretty central location. If you want to be by the busy pool with music , kids bits and the snack bar , ask for nearer. For us it was perfect. Buses and taxis easily accessible but there is little to do outside the hotel. You can walk to the next village - there are a few restaurants , a couple of shops but not really worth the walk. We bussed it to Los Cristianos and this is very touristy with looky looky stalls and excursions galore. The beach here is sandy whereas you struggle near to the hotel with anywhere to get into the water as very rocky and very choppy. We were allowed to keep our wrist bands until we left at 7.30pm and able to use everything and have all our meals. There is a courtesy room where we could use a locker and shower. There was also an option to pay 10 euro per hour to stay in our room but we didn’t need this. If you are happy to be in a secluded area then you will love this hotel. Extremely clean everywhere, attentive staff, little queuing and great facilities. Oh nearly forgot - the airport is close. The planes go over quite frequently at times, but I can honestly say it did not bother us. We quite enjoyed guessing which plane would be next as you have full view of them coming down to land. Just returned from a family holiday to the Barcelo Tenerife and overall had a great experience. In the weeks leading up to our holiday, my husband and I were a little concerned due to some of the negative reviews but am happy to say I needn't have worried as our stay was wonderful for the most part. Firstly, the bedrooms were huge and very stylishly decorated, very clean and comfortable. The bars, restaurants and communal areas were lavishly designed and very modern, particularly the bars which had a foliage/inside garden theme throughout. We often forgot that we were staying in an all-inclusive resort due to the standard of the interiors which were very upmarket, bespoke and meticulously clean. We were pleasantly surprised that all drinks seemed to be branded and not locally produced, with all soda served in bottles at lunch and dinner and on the taps in the poolside bars. Alcoholic drinks were also branded and the cocktails were delicious, with lots of flamboyancy and care taken in their preparation. Breakfast was an occasion with lots of different stations from pastries and cold meats and fruit to show cooking etc. We agree with some of the comments regarding the lack of variety for lunch and dinner, which did become a little repetitive and predictable, but the food itself was cooked to a high standard. The deserts, however, were amazing with lots of choice. We found all staff to be extremely friendly, polite, helpful and professional. The evening entertainment was of a five-star standard (a couple of acts were certainly worthy of a Britain's Got Talent final) and there was plenty to do during the day. The guy who ran the aqua aerobics was incredible, and motivated an entire pool full of people to join in most days - including me for the first time in decades! His enthusiasm and energy was infectious! Our teenage children had a great time and found plenty to occupy their time. The hotel has a great snack bar system poolside providing little takeaway boxes of chicken nuggets, chips, pizza and other child-friendly items throughout the day. These are stored in heated cabinets for self-service. Having said all of this, there are a couple of areas which did detract from an otherwise wonderful holiday. The biggest by far was the hotel's policy of removing wristbands immediately after checkout which felt incredibly stingy! Our home flight was 8.45pm, and after checking out at 12pm, our wristbands were promptly cut and we were told that all inclusive ends at this point. Although we were informed that we were welcome to use all facilities and the courtesy room to change later, we would have to buy our lunch if we chose to eat at the hotel at a cost of 30 euro per person (we had a family of four). This was a big surprise for us since in all of the 20 years we've been using all-inclusive hotels, this has never happened!
