The dreamcatcher is an Oasis in the quaint ocean park neighborhood of San Juan. The pictures absolutely match reality: the hotel is beautifully integrated with natured, boasting lush common spaces and stylish rooms. We stayed in the Sanctuary style room with an outdoor shower and bathroom area, and an air conditioned bedroom area. Although the bathroom areas for each room are “open concept,” it felt private and we couldn’t hear anyone else during our stay. The hotel is in a great area with nice local eats, just a $5-$10 uber from old San Juan, and steps away from a really nice and free beach. The staff, known as “the dream team” were all excellent and caring, willing to give recommendations and asking if we needed anything. This hotel was the perfect getaway for a romantic week, and we found it to be very valuable for the money. I miss the vibes already!

I’ve traveled to 64 countries, stayed in everything from bed and breakfasts to five-star eco-resorts, and I can honestly say the Dreamcatcher Hotel in Puerto Rico ranks among the worst and most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had. The “outdoor shower” is a complete misrepresentation. What they don’t disclose is that multiple wooden slats in the fence—directly in front of the shower area—HAVE BEEN REMOVED! This gives the neighbors a clear, unobstructed view into the shower and bathroom. It is creepy, invasive, and absolutely unacceptable. No hotel anywhere in the world should leave guests feeling exposed like that. The shower itself is a disaster. The showerhead is positioned so poorly that half the water falls outside the tub. To get any water on you, you’re forced to straddle a flimsy plastic tub that bends and shifts under your weight. Water spills everywhere, flooding the wooden floorboards and draining straight into the ground, leaving the stepping stones of the entry to the hotel completely soaked and dangerously slippery. But the real problem? The management. When I brought up the lack of privacy and explained how disturbing it was, they did absolutely nothing. They refused to screw in the removed boards sitting on the floor, refused to address the safety issues, and refused to offer any meaningful solution. Their only response was that they’d “consider” crediting the room if they could re-sell it—which is absurd, unprofessional, and a perfect reflection of how little they care about guest experience. The management never checked in. They never followed up. They never took responsibility. The complete lack of accountability from both management and ownership is shocking for a hotel in this price range. The entire stay felt sleazy, careless, and downright creepy. After traveling the world, I can confidently say this is the kind of place that looks charming online but is shockingly mismanaged behind the scenes. The simplest and most accurate description of their attention to guest comfort, privacy, and safety? GROSS. Avoid this place until they fix the privacy breaches, the unsafe shower setup, and—most importantly—their dismissive, ineffective management.

So beautiful! All of the amazing details and I spent more time in the outdoor bath tub than out of it. They really thought of everything here for a lovely stay. I was only there a couple nights but wish I had stayed a couple weeks. I stayed in Rosa 2 which was walking distance to pretty much anything you need

Where do I begin!? Such a cute place in a nice, quiet neighborhood that's walking distance from a great beach. Plenty of street parking. We got two rooms, one for my sisters and one for my wife and me. Upon arrival, we waited for one of the rooms to be ready. Sara, at the front desk, the ultimate sweetheart, upgraded us to a BEAUTIFUL upstairs room with an outdoor shower and a small lounge area. This trip was to celebrate the birthdays of one of my sisters and my wife, so this exceptional detail made the trip even more special.

This place is absolutely terrible and gross. The owners are swindlers and frauds. The place is a fake. Reviews are fake. Karma
