Outstanding
Due to an itinerary schedule that required we make some progress most days, we were only able to stay here for one night, and arrived quite late at that. So we weren't able to fully appreciate the public and semi-public areas that make this venue so unique. The entire development is nestled into the adjacent cliffs, so views from both the generous rear deck and the expansive shared front deck (shared with two other units), was breathtaking. Though not a big fan of hard floors in bedroom areas, our adobe-themed units was spacious and comfortable, though an extra chair and luggage surface would have been appreciated. there was plenty of drawer space and expansive counter space, so a more extended stay would have been well accommodated. The shower was terrific, and while some regular table lamps would have made the space far more homey, the wall, niche, and recessed ceiling lighting was more than adequate. there's no elevators (we were forewarned) , so our 3rd floor unit required a lot of stair climbing, but there were no shortage of ground floor units at this resort, albeit with considerably diminished views and private & semi private spaces. There is a decent counter-service food service on the property, serving limited but adequate breakfast, lunch, dinner offerings with a small, basic, screened porch and beautiful adjacent patio seating. Despite the posted hours, when I arrived for breakfast, I was told they were now only serving lunch, but with some very minor cajoling, they relented and served up terrific omelet platter. Our interest in this facility was due to its location between Arches National Park, Monument Valley, Mesa Verde and Durango. But I would have to count this place as an attraction unto itself, rather than just a place to spend the night in between.

GGuest UserThis place is AMAZING! What a gem. It's in the middle of a super small town and you are like what?!?! The pool is great, the restaurant if great and the rooms are wonderful. Best bed I've slept in (in a hotel) I would give this place 20 stars if I could. We only stayed one night as we were passing through but if we knew this was this nice we would have spent a couple of days here. At night we heard the coyotes howling. (which was cool for city slickers) We caught the most beautiful sunrise to.

We found the Lodge to be comfortable with friendly staff and a good restaurant. The view from our balcony was stunning. Additionally, the staff who assisted me with my car rental issue went out of their way to help. We took the tour of the Valley and I’d highly recommend it for the views and the local knowledge. Anyone considering taking a car on the 17 mile loop really shouldn’t. It’s bad enough for 4x4’s - a car (sedan) would really struggle.

IInspire12119011888We had rooms next to our traveling companions in the “king Building” with king beds. Good for one night stay, but wouldn’t stay longer. Loved the retro looks but unfortunately the temp in the fridge needed to be adjusted and all the food we had brought for breakfast froze. They could also use larger coffee pot and to-go cups with lids - it’s those little touches that make you happy. There was some traffic noise from the main road, but not on bad. Smooth check in. Enjoyed a Thai meal in town.

Aa others have said, it is a 1954 hotel designed by a Frank Lyod Wright student. Small rooms (1954 hotel remember), but recently renovated, and everything you need. Just a really different experience and a step back in time. Fun stay and would recommend for a great night sleep.

GGuest UserDo not be put off by the broken sign out front on the highway. My family and I greatly enjoyed our unusually large room, fitted out with beautiful pine walls and ceiling. We were three adults, heavily packed, who appreciated spreading out in this ample space. Coffee, orange juice and tea for breakfast as well as a large supply of packaged breakfast bars. The shower was hot and plentiful in amount and pressure. Separate sink gave us privacy from the toilet/shower area. I wish I could recall the number of our room. It was about halfway back the long ”L” before the 90 degree bend of rooms. Couldn't hear highway noise perhaps because we ran the AC. We were quite cool in the heat of Blending. I wish I had taken photos of the pine ceiling and paneling. These kinds of motels are fast disappearing. We will stay here our next drive through Blanding.

We were disappointed to find we couldn’t park our vehicle in front of our room. They have the parking spots numbered the same as the room numbers but they aren’t located in front of the room. I want to be able to see my vehicle to make sure nothing is being stolen or vandalized. We asked the attendant if we could park in front of our room and she lied to us and said all the rooms were booked that night, they weren’t and the space in front of our room was vacant. We were upset about that, then discovered our coffee pot didn’t work. We will not go back there for those reasons.

When you drive up in this very remote town this hotel and parking lot will definitely not give you a good feeling. Happy to say it was fine for an overnight stay! Yes it could use some updating but the room was very clean, smelled great, had a clean comfortable bed and excellent bathroom and shower. All immaculate. Nothing at all to do in this town except that family Dollar so bring a good book if you're here a few hours. Had take out from a very local small diner and the food was excellent also the place was very very clean. It's not bad for a drive-thru!
