I booked a room in January for a June wedding (five months in advance) along with other wedding guests. Since the shuttle for the wedding was leaving the hotel at 2p, I requested early check-in and was told to check back the morning of arrival. I did and was told to call around 12n. Since I lived hours away, I drove to the hotel early to avoid traffic and arrived at 12n. I was told there wasn't anything yet available and that I would be called around 1p. I went and found some food and was back just 20 minutes later and parked right in front and walked in and let the desk know I was there and waiting in my car (which could be seen from the reception desk). I observed people going in and out of the lobby and 1p came and went. Around 1:20p I went in and asked for the pool key so I could change in the pool bathroom. Needless to say, fast changing in a pool bathroom with no outlets for a wedding is not ideal especially since it was an extremely hot day. When I went back to the front desk to return the pool key friends of mine were checking-in. In fact, I learned other people had been checking-in while I sat in my car. Upon speaking with the representative and asking why he didn't call me, I was told he was too busy to call me. He also said I wasn't guaranteed early check-in anyways. I told him he could have checked me in when I requested the pool key. He then checked me in and I had just a few minutes to lug my luggage up to the second floor in the heat and heels. The room was on the freeway side and extremely noisy. The hotel is set up so that people walk by your window so the curtains need to stay closed. There were small bugs on one of the bedspreads (albeit unused bed) that I didn't notice til the morning. Highlight: Cleaning staff is lovely.
