La Locanda di Quercecchio

A wonderful inn (B&B w/out breakfast). All the other positive reviews are right. Our Junior Suite was comfortably sized, very clean (including the bathroom), with a big comfortable bed. It felt like staying in a 4-star hotel (without the common space amenities and dining options, and the high price). Location was great -- the old town of San Gimignano is not that big, but the locanda is centrally located, near the large piazzas but not on a busy street. The woman who checked us in was very helpful and we were able to store our luggage after check out with the owner at their restaurant in the Piazza del Duomo. A great value.

Great location, but parking is a 10 min walk away and finding the place on our GPS was a real hassle. We rented 2 rooms and the air con in one of them was too weak for a comfortable night's sleep. The owner was a bit cantankerous, but he did come out on the street to help us find the place. Those were the negatives. On the positive side, the location was just a block away from the town center, ie. the cistern, the rooms were large and beds comfortable, and the price was good value.
