Just 10 minutes from the town of San Gimignano lies a beautiful resort inn called Il Segreto di Pietrafitta. If you want to really experience “la dolce vita” you must stay at Il Segreto. Pedro and Diego have created a wonderful spot to visit many small towns in the Tuscany region or a place to just relax and take in the beauty of the Tuscan countryside. Every room (our room was called Montalcino) are beautifully appointed and are quite large by European standards Beautiful terraces, swimming pool, outside bar provide and fantastic views provide every guest with a whatever experience they desire. The morning buffet breakfast is served in the inn’s dining room. Everything from eggs, bacon, toast, yogurts, cakes, assorted meats and cheeses, just about anything you can imagine is provided in their breakfast experience. In addition, a terrific dinner is available to guests that include three courses (with an option for the main entrée) that is served on the outdoor terrace (weather permitting) or in the dining room where the daily breakfast is served. This is simply a beautiful place to stay in Tuscany, a 10-minute drive to San Gimignano and about a 25-minute drive to Siena. From Il Segreto day trips to Montalcino, Pienza, Volterra and other hill towns of Tuscany are within easy reach. Bottom line: this place is perfect! It is without a doubt our “go-to” spot in Tuscany. Amazing stay just outside San Gimignano! Every thing was just perfect. From the warm welcome, to the amazing view from every corner in this place, to the delicious food, and much more. The staff is so kind and helpful. The pool is amazing, with amazing view and lots of places to lay down and chill. Really special calm atmosphere in every corner. We will definitely come back…
