I had booked a single deluxe room; it was very spacious and I loved how there was hanging space and plenty of drawers. I was there for a week and so it was nice to be able to properly unpack and have my things organised. The room would be comfortable even for two people. The room did not have air conditioning but had a ceiling fan which I actually prefer to aircon; it was July yet the room never became too hot. The window was able to open and there was a screen mesh to prevent bugs entering. I asked for and got a kettle for the room to heat my own water. Stable free Wifi.
There was a shared bathroom thus is was appreciated that was a sink in the bedroom (had toiletries, flannels and towels provided). The shared toilet and shower facilities were always clean and even though I was there a week there was never a time that I had to wait/they were occupied when I wanted to use them. The shower room had a curtain separating the wet and dry areas and there was plenty of hooks to hand items. Everywhere was always clean. It was very quiet except for sometimes being some noise from outside.
There is a small basic kitchen area if you want to prepare some simple dishes ( I never used it), and a laundry where a wash and dry is very reasonably priced.
The hotel is in a very good location and I found it ideal for exploring San Francisco. Powell street BRT is a direct line to the train station, there is a streetcar (F) which goes directly to the piers, and a bus (7) which goes along Fell Street to Golden Gate park and if you went to the end of the line it goes to the other end of Golden Gate Park/coast/beach. I walked to other areas. It is ideal if you plan to go to any concerts, and the International Art Museum of America (free entry) is only a couple of mins walk. There are many eating places in the surrounding streets including a food court with reasonably priced food – included an Ikea restaurant where hotdogs are one dollar.
The hotel felt safe and secure. The front door is always locked and there is a key card to enter the hotel and the rooms. I appreciated that not once did the key card become desensitised. The hotel is in the Mission District and thus the area does have some homeless people around; you would not notice much during the day, though many more during the evening. I am a female travelling solo and I never had any problems with any people in the area and never felt unsafe. Evening during the evening the streets are so busy that you don’t feel vulnerable as there are so many people around. I could see from my bedroom window that through the night large crowds would congregate at the corner opposite the hotel, sometimes could be noisy, and they made lots of rubbish, however, everything was cleaned up and by the next morning there was no trace of it…that is a sign that the area is taken care of.
Staff always friendly and helpful. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would have no hesitation in staying again. There was no false advertising , and the facilities were what I expected based on the description, in fact, when considering the reviews, the hotel was better than I was expecting. If people want comfortable, clean basic accommodation you can’t go wrong with this.

As the reviews said, the street where the hotel is located is indeed full of homeless people and people who seem to be doing *****. It's not a very safe place, but it's just a little way off the main street where a lot of people come and go in San Francisco, so I was totally fine. Once inside the hotel, the building seems old, but it was clean and we had a card key, so there were no problems. For security reasons, there were no amenities other than towels, and I especially wanted a water heater.
It's close to the station, and the shower and toilet are shared, but the appeal is that you can relax in your room (not with other people in a bunk bed or something), and above all, it's cheap!

The room is very small. The corridor smells of India. The public bathroom is sometimes not very clean. The toilet paper is not replenished in time. There are many homeless people sleeping at the door of the hotel. The door cannot be opened.

The rooms are new and modern furnished. Unfortunately, the walls of the rooms are so thin that I could hear the TV from the room below me all night and couldn't sleep.
The ability to store your luggage is also a plus.
What keeps me from sleeping there again is the disgust of the washing machines (I would never want to wash anything there) and the kitchen. There is also no fridge and not even a kettle.
The shower rooms are also quite dated and far from inviting.

The hotel staff stole our jewelry from our luggage. Even though there are cameras, they claimed there were no recordings. They charged us $5 to put our bag in a ‘secure area,’ yet we still suffered a loss of at least $7,000. The hotel refuses to take any responsibility. Please stay away from this place. The front of the hotel is filled with homeless people and feels completely unsafe. The rooms are extremely noisy. I only chose it for its central location, but I could never have imagined such an experience. I am pursuing all possible legal actions!

The hotel staff stole our jewelry box. When we checked out, we left our bag in their “safe room” and even paid extra for this service. My jewelry worth around $7,000, was inside the bag. When we got home, we discovered it was stolen. The hotel denied everything, refused to investigate, and took no responsibility at all. On top of that, the location is terrible. It’s central, yet very unsafe – the street outside was very noisy, and we never felt safe walking around. From the very beginning, I was suspicious of the staff member who took our bag to the safe room, and unfortunately, my instincts were right. This hotel is unsafe, unprofessional, and dishonest. I would never recommend anyone to stay here.
