The Lodge at The Presidio

If you are looking for the ultimate low key San Francisco experience, Lodge at the Presidio is the place to be. The location is outstanding for sheer beauty and view. We booked the deluxe king room for 2 nights with a spectacular view of the bridge. We could sit in bed and watch the birds in formation, the cargo ships come in, the sailboats floating by, the fog rolling in and out and so much more. Life was happening all around us but we were chilling out. The staff treated us like we were family. Excellent complimentary breakfast and evening wine and cheese. Nice restaurant walking distance and many gorgeous views of Alcatraz, Palace of Fine Arts, fields of flowers with hummingbirds. We are forever grateful to the Managing Director Terry Haney for all of his remarkable insight at this magical hotel.

The hotel is situated in a great space, very close to the Golden Gate Bridge. Parking is at a lot across a grassy field, so access is easy. It does come at a cost. There is a daily park fee above the nightly cost. That is something to note. The rooms are small, but feel historic. The building is in good shape, and the noise of the freeway doesn't come into the rooms. The breakfasts are good, as are the wine and cheese. There are two restaurants within walking distance, but be aware that you should reserve a table in advance. The hotel is situated next to many walking paths, all of which have fantastic views. If you need to go downtown every day, it is probably out of the way, but if you want to visit the museums, the location could not be better. The hotel also has a firepit with a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was nice to sit outside.

Perfect location. Very safe neighborhood, less than a 2 minute walk to incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Staff was wonderful, friendly and very knowledgeable of the area (gave great recommendations). Included breakfast and evening wine/cheese are a great perk. Highly recommend!

This is a fantastic hotel in one of the most amazing locations in San Francisco! This was our first time staying and we loved it. There are unfettered views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge, which feel so close you could reach out and touch them. Wisps of fog flowing through the surrounding cypress and eucalyptus trees....the sun breaking through the clouds over the bay...the beautifully restored historical officers quarters... all of this make for such a magical setting. The hotel itself is elegant, clean, and a perfect mix of modern comfort and historical reference. The service was understated, friendly, and generous. The location is great. There is a big open grassy field right across from the hotel. Parking is easy (and cheap)! $13? I can't remember the last time I only paid $13 to park somewhere overnight, let alone SF. The area was not crowded and felt quiet and safe. A perfect launching point for whatever you want to do in SF, especially the presidio/marina/ocean beach area. We'll definitely be back!

Stayed at the lodge for our wedding since it was close to the Golden Gate Club venue. We stayed in the Queen suite which was spacious and perfect for the wedding party to get ready in day of. The staff were friendly and helpful when we needed assistance. The pillows were some of the best “hotel” pillows my husband and I have slept on and the views were wonderful. Our family stayed and enjoyed their time as well. Thank you Lodge for your hospitality!

The Lodge at the Presidio is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location. The staff was great. The room was clean and well organized. I enjoyed my stay. However, the hotel is very pricey. I would not stay there again due to the high cost.
