Grant Plaza Hotel

This hotel is recommended for those who want to keep hotel costs down during the New Year holidays. We stayed here for 4 nights during the New Year holidays. It is located near the entrance to Chinatown, and although it is not the ***** New Year, lanterns are hung on the surrounding roads, so you can enjoy the atmosphere of Chinatown. The location is quite good, with a 7-minute walk to Union Square, a 25-minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf, and a 15-minute walk to the Bay Bridge. In particular, it was nice to be able to walk home after the countdown held on the Bay Bridge during the New Year holidays. I was able to walk home while the buses and subways were crowded. Other hotels were priced from 60,000 yen, but this was about 40,000 yen including discount, which was quite cheap and good value for money. I thought the room would be dirty because of the price, but it was very clean and the bathroom was very clean. The room was small. The shower room was separated by a glass door instead of a curtain, so I didn't have to worry about water splashing. Although the English wasn't that good, the front desk staff were very kind, and some people even gave us water for free, which was a paid service, and we didn't need the beds made, but we did want new towels every day. The neighborhood was a bit suspicious, but the area around the hotel was fine.

The price is not expensive, but basically don’t expect anything else. The sound insulation is very poor and the bed is very small. It’s just a simple sleep, so it’s not bad.

The sanitation is OK. The room is not soundproofed. There were people arguing in the corridor, and the noise was very loud. The location is convenient, near Chinatown. I probably won't consider staying here again.

The hotel is quite shabby. The price should be increased by 300 yuan to change to a better hotel. After staying for two days, they said that they would need to inform the front desk for cleaning. No one cleaned the room on New Year's Day. The location of the hotel is not bad and it is clean, but there is no advantage other than that.
