The location is a problem. It is not dangerous, but there are a lot of vagrants around, so it might be a bit difficult to bring adults or travel with women. The rooftop bar has a good atmosphere.

a few weird things... no complimentary breakfast no tea or coffee in the room no slippers or robe in the room AI operated room service there was a mistake on my bill and when I called the hotel...it was impossible to speak to an actual person on the phone

Overpriced, with hidden fees, poor maintenance and upkeep, and staff that are just there to collect a paycheck and not care about customer experiences.

Staff was very nice. Management was unavailable the 2 times they were requested to deal with a *major* issue. No one has been trained on communication amongst the staff or with clients.

This hotel has such a fun vibe and all the things you would need for a comfortable, convenient stay. The food was excellent at both dining locations, the bed/pillows were perfect, and the space was adequate for a big city hotel. Can't really beat the price for a good night's stay, but it is definitely in an area that requires a little bit of caution about your surroundings. I was traveling solo with a good friend (both females) and we felt ok walking around during the day (with some caution), but at night it was Uber only. Honestly, a lot of SF feels this way now, so I doubt that is unique to this hotel location. Overall, I would stay here again, but I did recommend some easy security tweaks (like having key cards only access the floor you are staying on), that I think would make guests feel a little better. The strawberry lemon water at the reservation desk is THE BEST. I was like a camel by that dispenser. lol

The hotel is in a good location for accessing the City's highlights. Super convenient for getting around. Especially if you're going to Oracle Park for a game. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. One of the highlights was the rooftop bar. It had amazing views and a great atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend.

Great hotel that's in close proximity to the Orpheum Theater for a quick walk to a show. The rooftop bar is a nice oasis which a good vibe.

The San Francisco Proper Hotel was a wonderful surprise. From the beautifully renovated rooms to the stunning rooftop bar, every detail exceeded expectations. This will definitely be my go-to place whenever I’m in San Francisco. I used the valet service, which was quick and seamless. While waiting for my truck, I enjoyed a complimentary cup of coffee it was a nice touch before heading out of town.
