Comfort Inn San Diego Old Town

Close to Old Town and other attractions. Paid parking garage of $20/night (July 2025) and there were free street parking available nearby. The rooms were clean. The toilet bowl in the first room was leaking and the second one worked with a tight flushing handle. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful in addressing the problems. There was a safe in the room but it was not working, The sound-proof in the room facing the highway was very bad. The rooms on the other side was quiet.

This Hotel charges $20 a day for parking. The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling. Carpet was old and worn. Curtains were dirty. Only one ice machine was working out of 3. Won’t stay here again.

Room was clean and comfortable, with a mini fridge, microwave, great king size bed, decent amount of pillows. Breakfast was also good except for the reconstituted eggs. Waffles, variety of cereals. Good coffee. Room was quiet even though we were right next to the freeway. Super close to Old Town. We were early for check I. And the front desk (Vanessa) gave us a free coupon for an appetizer at the coyote Cafe in Old Town, which we used. All in all a very good experience.

Great price and great location. Rooms were clean. Friendly staff. Within walking distance to many great places to eat. Close to beach areas as well. Recommend as a place to stay for your next visit to the area. Also close to MCRD if you are going for graduation.

Booked on-line for a very favorable rate of $89 plus tax (parking fee of $9.00 per day and $1.00 per day safe fee) were not disclosed until check-in. We only stayed one night prior to our flight home (thankfully). Hotel is very close the airport and convenient for departures. Located right on the highway. Check-in was friendly (took about 20 minutes...two parties ahead of us). Room we were assigned (room 329) was in the top rear of the hotel (probably best for noise purposes since we did not have any highway noise). Pros: large room with solid king bed, micro, fridge, TV, computer in lobby with printer for printing boarding passes, decent continental breakfast included (but breakfast room is very small) and hotel is within walking distance of old town. Cons: Entire hotel and our room especially reeked of cigarette smoke. We had a non-smoking room, but there were holes in the carpet from cigarettes and because the rooms all front on an open courtyard, where ash trays and smokers are everywhere and the smoke drifts upward, there is no way to avoid the smoke and the stench. If you are a non-smoker, stay elsewehre. Other cons: people sitting outside around the pool smoking and drinking until late in the night (very loud), our bathroom was filthy ...hairs on the tub and floor, trash on the floor, stains on the counter and table in the room. Housekeeping is nonexistent. Even the carpet in the room seemed dirty and we kept our shoes on all the time. Half of the lights in the room did not work due to burned out bulbs. Underground parking garage seemed dark and creepy . I was glad I never went down there alone and I didn't like the $9 a day add on fee. For a little bit more money, stay up the street at the Holiday Inn Express (we stayed there previously and wished we hadn't cheaped out this time). Cannot recommend this hotel.
