Residence Inn San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter

I had a great time at the Residence Inn, it's a great place to have some, "me time", to refresh before going back to the rat race. I recommend going to the Japanese Friendly Garden, House of International, San Diego Museum of Art, and the Comic-Con Museum as well.

How do I start? Reserved a suite. The WOOORST sofabed I’ve ever slept in. The springs of the couch touch your back, you will have the WORST pain and sleep of your life. We’re over the 6th street so prepare to sleep with music from the outside even in Monday. There are no double window so imagine. THEY ONLY CLEAN EVERY TWO DAYS!!!!! IMAGINEEEE, that’s why u r at a hotel, not an airbnb, u want your room to be cleaned everyday but no. The service sucks as well. It would be a nice hotel if the night costed 40 dolars

The location in the gaslamp district is what it has going for it. Just like many of the other reviewers have said this place is in need of a major interior renovation. The first room we were in had mold in the bathroom, the couch was torn up as if it was in a fraternity house, and there were cockroaches. I called down to change rooms. When the gentleman at the desk asked why and I told him he didn’t seem surprised, but also was not apologetic. We did get a different room, but it was not much better. The lobby restaurant does not post or adhere to standard hours. If you stop in for a drink or even a bite it’s likely going to be closed or unattended. Other reviewers mentioned noise from the street, but if you’ve ever stayed in the city, it’s really not that bad . One of the craziest things is the sink and mirror are not in the bathroom, but rather it’s in the middle of the bedroom next to your bed with carpeted floor. It all combines to create a musty smell in the room, and that was the case in the first and second room. If you’re looking for more than just a place to sleep and base location to explore the city from - this is not the hotel for you. There are better Marriott locations nearby if you were wanting to stay within the brand.
