Property Description
We are a Full Service Resort located by the sparkling waters of Mission Bay. We have a large pool area surrounded by tropical plants and trees. We off a full service Spa and a fine dining Restaurant on site as well as Morays Cocktail Lounge. Adjacent to the bay we have a white sand beach with cabanas and beach chairs. We have a private dock from which we rent sailboats/ power boats/ ocean kayaks/ paddle boards. We have a Mississippi style sternwheeler that offers seasonal cruises on Mission bay to our guest free of charge.
We rent bicycles as well as surfboards and wetsuits.
Our tropical birds are here to entertain you and enhance the tropical feel our resort. On select Summer nights we have Polynesian Luaus by the bay.

The resort in a word is awesome. It's in a great location, close to the beach, near many restaurants, the bay and Sea World. It's very clean, spacious and inviting. I always enjoy my stays at this resort. Joanne at the front desk and Renee in reservations were exceptional. Having travelled on business for over 35 years, she exceeded my expectations. They were very informative, knowledgeable, great communicators and listeners. They are a true assets to the Catamaran team!

We walked into this hotel and immediately felt the resort vibe. We stayed in a bay view wall out room and were able to enjoy the amazing view of the calm Mission Bay. The pool area is also nice, but there is no service here which surprised us (no food or drinks / bar) on offer. The service overall wasn’t as good as we experienced in other California hotels (staff weren’t able to answer basic questions and we had to wait longer for service). But given the fantastic location and value for money, we would still recommend this hotel as it delivered on most points!

A fantastic resort hotel. The positives are: great location in Pacific beach area, loads of restaurants and activities nearby, friendly and attentive staff, great amenities, beautiful spa. The negatives are: some areas are really dated, we stayed in the tower and the room is big with a great view but really old, dirty in parts, noisy air con, in need of a refurb. I think some of the low rise accommodations have been renovated already. If the tower was renovated, this place would be a 5-star gem in San Diego. Overall had a really great time here. We will definitely return.

My milestone birthday celebration with family was made unforgettable by our stay at the Catamaran! The lush, tropical grounds created a perfect ambiance, complemented by well-cared-for plants and animals. Love the birds!! The bay room offered beautiful bay views, and both the spa and restaurant were outstanding. The customer service was exceptional — from Dante, Joanne, and Mariana who checked us in swiftly and answered all our questions, to the attentive poolside and room service teams. Every staff member we encountered was professional, friendly, and polite, ensuring a memorable experience for us. Thank you Catamaran!!

Our family had a fantastic stay at the Catamaran, largely thanks to their outstanding staff. While our first check-in wasn't smooth (the initial desk agent seemed inconvenienced and didn't mention any amenities), Lorenzo at the front desk completely redeemed the experience. He was amazing—going out of his way to make us laugh and detailing all the resort's offerings. Lorenzo's exceptional service truly showcased the Catamaran's commitment to great customer care. The room is clean and very comfortable. We loved staying in the garden room so close to everything the the resort has to offer.

The place was spotless, most friendly front desk, great location. Our second time at Caramaran. Did I mention,,, great location. Loved the bartenders for a late night drink. We were on first floor and would request again. Sat on the patio and grass area watching the morning runners ( we walked every day over 10,000-21,000 steps per day). Found a cute breakfast place and always visited the foster home for dogs.
