La Cantera Resort & Spa

There was NO RESERVATION upon arriving at the hotel!!! This website is a total scam/fraud!!!! Do not use!!!

I had stayed at La Cantera several times between 2005-2009 and had great experiences. Now I know that even though that was a long time ago and things certainly have changed, it is definitely not as good as it once was. It is now way too crowded, short staffed, and INSANELY expensive. I will say that the staff that is there, they try their best but they are up against a tidal wave of overcrowdedness. Did not get down to the pool on Saturday before 9AM?Good luck. The Kid's pool is nice with waterslides, but the pool itself is tiny and ALL the families want to use it. It is like a bathtub. Every single thing is sky high expensive. The food is mediocre and the drinks are tiny for the price. I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Our overall stay was great. The resort is beautiful and the staff is friendly. However, I was very disappointed that between 1-3am, there was a vent cleaning company working outside our room and it sounded like a jackhammer inside the room during the night. We were unable to sleep and because of the time of night, it wasn’t possible for us to pack and switch rooms. The hotel should reconsider when this cleaning is done in the future and warn guests located in that area of the hotel if it does continue at that hour of the night.

When La Cantera was recommended by a trusted Sister Friend, I immediately reserved time for a short vacation. The moment I arrived I knew I had made the right decision. From chek-in to check-out everyone and everything was perfect. The staff were all courteous, friendly, helpful, professional and accommodating. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful. The food and adult beverages were amazing. The courtesy shuttle to the Shops were timely and accommodating as well. It was a great expereince for a much needed vacation. Well done!

This resort is beautiful and peaceful. We visited Grille 254 and SweetFire kitchen. It is so convenient and nice to have dining options. We enjoyed the family pool. We will be visiting again soon.

Worst sleep of our lives. We were excited to splurge on a family vacation - my husband is a teacher and teaches summer school to fund our yearly summer trip. Unfortunately we made the decision to stay at La Cantera. I never leave bad reviews, but genuinely I got the worst/most miserable sleep here. We tossed and turned all night on night 1 because the bed was so uncomfortable. We woke up with bad back pain. We pushed through the day as we had a busy day ahead of us - ended up going to bed late and really thought I was tired enough to just sleep through it. I was wrong, slept horribly again on night 2. The next morning we went to the front desk and let them know that we were having a terrible time getting any sleep and had horrible back pain. I asked if it was possible for them to put a mattress pad on the bed or something. They called housekeeping & the solution they came up with was putting another comforter on the bed under the sheets. It did not do any good. We still slept horribly for the remainder of our trip. You genuinely could not pay me to sleep at this resort again. At some point on the trip I got a text asking if we were comfortable on the trip, I responded with "NO". I got a text that I would get a call, never got a call. It's truly a bummer.
