I am not a hotel "snob", with unrealistic lofty expectations for Marriott's "budget" hotels like Fairfield Inns. But my stay this week at this property was disappointing. I know properties are struggling with finding consistent staff, but the hotel was certainly not up to Marriott standards. It was dirty (my room, the hallways, the lobby area, everything). Towels are old and worn. My room wasn't cleaned properly. My first day there, I was working at the desk (which could also use some upgrading), and I reached my hands around and plowed my finger into a huge chunk of freshly chewed bubble gum. Really gross. When I mentioned the gum to the front desk person, and requested a thorough cleaning when I left the hotel for meetings one day, there was no apology. Just a yes, we'll get it taken care of. When I returned late that night, the gum had been removed, but the room was not thoroughly cleaned, nor had the carpet been thoroughly vacuumed. The HVAC system in my room (although it worked OK) was cracked (leading to rattles), and in pieces. They had no tea bags at all in the 24 hour coffee/tea area. When I asked for more, was told they had none. No plastic bag in the closet for soiled laundry. Lots of hotel options in the are. Look elsewhere.
