Checked into my room. Walked in and it stunk of food and cigarettes. Trash left on the counters. Trash cans not emptied. Refrigerator not cleaned. I would RUN from this place. I am a lifetime Diamond and this place is NOT well kept and extremely nasty. Don’t believe me, check out the photos. I had to change rooms. Will check tomorrow and try to check out early and find a clean hotel.

Not good! The room is dirty, there were a couple of hairs in the tub, stains on the carpet. The couch is so stained I won’t sit on it. Same thing with the desk chair. I put a towel over it. Housekeeping came in yesterday and didn’t even make the bed. The breakfast was decent and the staff are very nice but the place looks old and worn. Fitness room is so so but lacks anything to sanitize the equipment or my hands after using it.

I was so disappointed in the Home2suites in San Angelo after enjoying them several times throughout the United States. The room was very worn and in need of a refresh of everything! The quality of construction compared to others was very poor. And the breakfast was very poor. They were out of everything and the hotel staff did not really care. We had to go elsewhere to find breakfast for a family of five.

This is the third time (at least) we’ve stayed at this location. It has gone downhill substantially in a few ways. First, the good side. It’s conveniently located near shopping and other resources. The beds and pillows were actually surprisingly comfortable, but the sheets are so thin that they come off quite easily. The cleaning is in need of significant attention (see pictures), as the room had several really gross parts that could have easily been cleaned better. A spoon with a chip and rust in the kitchnette, hair and other substances left in the shower and bathroom, and very limited toiletries left in the room. This especially apparent when cleaning doesn’t come during a short two or three day stay! The front desk staff, when they can actually be found in the front, seemed bothered or exasperated by having to help, and even when a “thank you” was offered to them, it was not returned. Could be a nice place, but seems like no one cares.

Did the online check-in, selected a room on the 4th floor 403. Arrived at the hotel and was given room 220. After explaining that I had already checked in online, was told that "there must have been some mistake on the phone"...I pointed out to her that I never talked to anyone on the phone, then it was the "app"s" mistake. And room 220 was the ONLY ROOM AVAILABLE. Most likely that was a lie, since the parking lot had about 25 cars in it...so unless most of their guests walked to the hotel, that hotel was not full. Room smelled badly, no Kleenex, a/c unit fan had an awful whine such that we had to turn it off, bathtub diverter did not work. And, people in room next door were blasting a movie on tv starting at 10:30 pm....called the front desk 3 times ...final time at 12:20 am and they finally called the room next door and got them to turn the tv off. Worst Hilton brand hotel I've ever stayed in. When we dropped off the keys in the morning, the desk clerk didn't ask about our stay like all Hilton brand hotel do...they knew what the answer would be.

My San Angelo visit made me decide on Home2Suites, and this Hilton brand is an exciting one. I loved the building's exterior. This hotel really does fit the bill, even though my visit had a rocky beginning. Had to get keys juiced up when one of the managers had to be summoned to assist the one lady on duty when the computer systems were temporarily on the blink. The tough experience almost cost me my one chance to visit an important tourist attractions, but the service team regrouped in a hurry. My first room had the key did not work, and we thought the problem on the door was with the sensor, but we later found that the room key had the wrong number entered in the entire time after many futile attempts to get a green light. The manager and rep finally gave me another room and a new set of keys (which did work this time), but it ended up being a blessing. My new room was better than my first one, and it had a much better view of the area. The remainder of my four-day visit had gone very well after the resolution. Very good room with a comfy bed and great pillows. The walk-in shower was absolutely a joy to use, with three different spritz pressure functions. As for the television set, it's a good one, but with limited DirecTV options, so you only get about 45 channels. They could use a good cable package that can be better. The room was also spacious enough to move around in, which was important. It was practically a mini-suite, as it included a large refrigerator which had more than enough room to put beverages in. And if anyone wonders, yes, the toilet in this room worked very well the whole time. In addition, the exercise room was very good and had a very functional stationary bike. I especially enjoyed the lobby, what with its modern design and bright colors. The location is the best in San Angelo, right in a cluster of multiple hotels next to U.S. Highway 67 and near Sherwood Way. Nothing is far away if you're looking for a good restaurant. The parking area gets rave reviews, as there are plentiful spaces well-arranged near the lobby area. This hotel could use bigger, wider dollies to transport luggage, however, but for the visit, it's not a total loss. Hopefully when you visit San Angelo, go ahead and give Home2Suites a try. The staff I've interacted with is friendly, especially the one lady who checked me out, but let's not forget the two ladies who tried to check me in and ended up solving a huge problem. Very nice. Drop on in!

Toilet seat was not attached to the toilet and laying sideways on top of the toilet when we checked in. The exhaust fan made a terrible noise when the bathroom light was turned on. This was conveyed to the front desk immediately to no avail.

We have stayed at this property several times since it opened and it seems to be wearing out quickly. When we were there one of the elevators was broken, the ice machine was broken, the halls were dirty with trash outside, the lady checking us in was pretty uninterested. It's a little sad since this was a place we stayed at as we drove across Texas and enjoyed but will probably look for an alternative in the future.

This property is not worthy of the Hilton Brand. If you've heard of the "broken windows theory," you can see it in action. With each successive visit, there is more equipment broken. Dirty hallway floors and no evidence of a vacuum cleaner being used upstairs. Nice people are the redeeming factor, but not enough to return.
