Hotel Folias San Agustín

Best considered a 3* hotel. Good points - nearly all staff very pleasant and helpful Sun beds just about sufficient for demand Balcony lighting good enough to read by at night - not always the case at hotels! Air conditioning worked well Short walk to nearby shopping centre (for most local restaurants) Short walk to beach. Small kitchen area is very useful - 2-ring hob, microwave, kettle, crockery, pans and some utensils, plus fridge (though the freezer apartment in our fridge had no door so the whole fridge tended to get very cold). Not so good points - hotel showing its age - some cracked floor tiles in hallways, showers look dated. Breakfast choice limited Extra charge for room safe No bar or evening entertainment One issue we had with the shower took 2 days to get sorted. It was a hand held shower with wall fixing to hold it. However the fixing was broken so that the shower if placed in it only pointed straight out - it couldn't be rotated. We reported it to the front desk to say it should be able to rotate, so they sent maintenance up who just put in a missing screw from the fixing. But no change to the shower direction, so back to reception to be told all the showers were the same. Fortunately we had seen other showers and our room maid helpfully contacted maintenance to say ours needed fixing properly, which it was then done. Full marks to the maid, zero to reception.

Great location & grounds. Lovely clean rooms & comfy beds. Everything you need in kitchenette. Pool great & pool bar. Amazing staff from receptionist, pool bar guy and cleaners. Cocktails fab.

Stayed here with my husband for a week mid June along with my 2 sisters and their husbands. Private Taxi from airport to hotel about 20 minutes, although you can come out of the airport, follow signs and take the bus which stops at the San Agustin Shopping Centre, then about a 10 minute walk to the hotel. As always check in swift. Rooms on the 4th floor with sea views. Complimentary bottle of bubbly and water, due to direct booking with the hotel. Comfortable beds, walk in shower, hair dryer, toiletries supplied. Also in the room - small kitchenette with fridge, cooker, microwave, coffee maker and kettle, crockery & cutlery. If you need an iron it can be requested at reception. Breakfast lovely. Hot & cold food, very good selection, teas and coffees as well as lovely fresh orange juice. Cleaning done excellently, top marks to all these females who do such a good job. Pool lovely with plenty of loungers, mattresses & parasols. Juan, pool guy, super helpful. Pool towels are available at Reception. Poolside bar serves lovely food & cocktails at really affordable rates. Absolutely brilliant. Staff all round, from Reception, breakfast room, cleaners, friendly, courteous, helpful. Special mention to Carlos, Killian, Marcella in the breakfast room and poolside bar, fantastic service. Book this hotel directly through their website, service is next to none. Many thanks to Azahara Campos for the hospitality shown to us. We love this hotel, already planning our 6th.

Internet was very bad and some small issues with the toilet. Everything else was very nice. Everyone was very nice to us, the pool, bar, reception was cool. Good cooking utensils but no salt, pepper or oil etc was given which is unnecessary to buy yourself. Coffe machine, toaster, water cooker were good to have. Room was old but well kept. 5 min to the beach

Given a room the size of a broom cupboard but main disappointment there was no balcony hated every minute lovely weather but couldn’t sit on a balcony. Bar closed at 4pm then nothing in the hotel had to walk up to the shopping center for a drink.

Close to a lovely beach. Restaurants, shops and transport links all within a few minutes walk. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Comfortable room with balcony with sea view.
