Jahongir Premium

Great location, about 10mins walk to Registan with a 5/5 rating restaurant en route. The courtyard of the hotel is beautiful as well. The service was great, we arrived at before 7am and was warmly surprised when told that we could check in early and have an additional complimentary breakfast. The staff even arranged a nearby hair dresser for us to get authentic Uzbek hairstyles. The room was spacious with great amenities including a functioning mini-fridge, strong heating and enough power sockets. Overall a great stay in Samarkand. And I will definitely recommend!

The hotel is located in the most interesting place of Samarkand - old town. All interesting sights are reachable by foot. There are some nice restaurants around. By taxi it’s about 15 min from the main station. Personnel is qualified and friendly. Card payment is possible but you’ll be charged about 1,5% extra on your payment. This is very often in Uzbekistan. The room was well decorated quipped with everything including AC which worked for heating too. Some bottles of complimentary water were provided. Clean and quiet. The interior yard was nice also. Breakfast is better than well. I reduced the mark due to annoying incident happened to my card. I’ve been charged 700$ instead of 80$ apparently by mistake. And noticed that absolutely accidentally. The hotel has returned the difference but I have lost about 10$ of commission taken by the the bank. So check your bills after payment to avoid those problems. And pay by cash better.

There are different “Jahongir” hotel facilities in Samarkand and sometimes reviews mix them up. I tried Jahongir Guest House and Jahongir Premium (this one). Both are located in the same road, in a quiet neighbourhood, close to the Registan (less than 10 minutes walking) and to the main attractions. In both, rooms are clean and large but the Guest House is a little bit aged, a refresh is needed. Both have an internal garden where to relax, the one of Jahongir Premium is more well-finished. The breakfast offers local food with few sweet options. Wifi worked perfectly. Service needs to be improved … they forgot to send the taxi to pick us up at the airport. Both have affordable prices. All in all, Jahongir Premium looks more modern and confortable than the Guest House but services are the same.

Hotel is a bit hidden but inside is very nice. The rooms are spacious with little fridge, comfy chairs and little table. In our room we have a sofa as well. The beds are comfy, in the bathrooms towels are great and there are toiletries. Every days there are fresh bottled water. There is a little kettle and selection of tea bags. There is a safe in place as well. The breakfast is more then efficient, large selection of savoury and sweet foods, tea, coffee, juices, yogurts etc. Staff very friendly and accommodating. We were waiting for our transport and they let us to have one room a bit longer. Big thank you.
