A very pleasant stay
We stayed for one night, was looking for a typical austrian gasthaus...an dthe hotel fullfiled all we wished for.

Short break
It was my first time in a Gasthof, and this one was a very good suprise, the room was very clean, and had a gigantic shower, the view to the Bavarian Alps was amazing.
The restaurant is very Austrian traditional with fabulous food, the family that runs this Gasthof is really friendly and helpful, very good place for resting after bycicle trips.
Overall was an amazing experience and i know were to stay next time when visiting Salzburg.
Ps take bus number 5 , takes 20 min to city center.

Waren gestern dort essen. Wir haben selten eine so unfreundliche Kellnerin (schwarzhaarig, über 50) erlebt. Zuerst wollten wir beim Zahlen unsere Karten selbst in das Gerät stecken, das ist unser gutes Recht, da wir nicht wollen das andere Personen unsere Sachen anfassen. Daraufhin kam schon der erste pampige Kommentar. Dann stellten wir fest, dass 1,00 Euro mehr verrechnet wurde. Ihr Kommentar: Die Speisekarten wurden mit falschen Preisen ausgedruckt. Das interessiert mich als Kunde schon gar nicht! Nächstes mal verrechnen sie vielleicht mal 5 oder 10 Euro mehr? Und wieder kam keine Entschuldigung, sondern nur ein dummes Nachmaulen von dieser Kellnerin! Lieber Wastl-Wirt Chefitäten: so jemanden werfe ich aus hochkant meiner Firma! Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Eher kurzfristig entschlossen haben wir dennoch einen Platz im urigen Biergarten bekommen - und weil wir auch noch weiter mussten - war unser Aufenthalt nur kurz. wir hatten unsere Problematik dem Personal mitgeteilt und wir konnten in der kurzen Zeit dennoch die Aufmerksamkeit und die Flexibilität der Küche genießen. Heimische Küche, gut gepflegtes Bier (das auch noch mit einem appetitanregenden "Hauberl" am Tisch ankam) - und dem Namen gerecht werdend - frischer Most sowie nette Bedienung haben einen gelungenen (Kurz)Aufenthalt gewährleistet. Wir kommen wieder und wundern uns, warum wir dieses Traditionshaus nicht schon längst mal besucht haben.

I stayed here for one night last week. I was visiting my aunt and uncle who live near Graz but I was taking an early flight back to London from Salzburg (they drive me to the area). We needed somewhere to stay close to the airport, with parking and also some charm and an Austrian feel. This guest house was fantastic! The room was spotless, service and staff fabulous. Dinner and breakfast faultless. Only improvement for me would have been a way of making coffee in my room, however for the price I was happy to forfeit this convenience. Don’t hesitate it’s really nice.

The staff are all friendly, helpful, and very hospitable. The breakfast was lovely, and we also dined at the restaurant for dinner, which was delicious. The balcony opened on a gorgeous view of the mountainside. Please note, the property does not have an elevator, so you'll need to carry your things up one flight of stairs. But this was one of our favorite stays on this trip, and it centrally located for visits to Salzburg, Hallstatt, and Berchtesgaden.

Our extended family has been eating and staying here for over 50 years!! Excellent family run hotel - good service and food and value for the cost. Excellent location for walking to Hellbrun Castle where part of the Sound of Music was filmed and other well known places.
