Das Hotel Scherer befindet sich in 5 Minuten Gehdistanz zum Hauptbahnhof und ist daher ideal gelegen, wenn man mit dem Zug reist. Auch die Altstadt ist zu Fuss in 20 Minuten gut erreichbar. Die Zimmer sind sauber, das Personal freundlich und das Frühstück ist ausgiebig.

Terrible intention. Staff is very unfriendly! They should indeed take a course on how to deal with people. I have never been a guest of this hotel. Only went to pick up a coat from an acquaintance, which he had forgotten. We walked the Mozart Ultra trail together, and he had already returned to the Netherlands. Upon arrival, they immediately started making a fuss about the fact that there was still an outstanding bill from the minibar. While the gentlemen had properly paid their outstanding bills in the morning. The reception had forgotten to charge for a drink. So I was urgently requested to pay their minibar bill with my credit card. While I have never slept there. That is simply too bizarre for words. Then they threatened not to return the coat if I did not pay. It was €3.50 Very unfriendly! Make sure your administration is in order, and do not lay your problem with strangers who have not stayed with you. TERRIBLE!

Stayed for 5 nights and thought the hotel was v good. Big room with plenty of storage and a nice seating area to have a cuppa / coffee. Both were provided though the tea was green tea not English breakfast so I took a couple each day from the breakfast area. Plastic milk which on one day had curdled. Mini fridge so space to buy fresh milk if needed. Shower in the both but I didn't have to hold it to wash my hair? Cleaned well and towels replaced daily. Staff were helpful with ideas to eat..we tried 3 in the area - Il Padrino, Pitter Keller and the small family run Stube Stilo? - opposite the Immular Bierkeller, 5 mins walk away so no need to go into town. Meals were all v good. Breakfast was the usual, they didn't seem to replace the hot stuff that often so when it's gone it's gone..only grapefruit or orange juice available. The hotel charged €38 on arrival for city tax / energy (hadn't been expecting that but checked my booking and they did say we'd be charged locally, beware they want the sum in cash. Quite alot of tour groups staying but the hotel was quiet from a noise perspective. Rooms v hot even with window open, air con didn't seem to work. I'd go back if in town again.

Very pleasant little hotel (in the sense of = not a bed and breakfast) with a family atmosphere and lots of attention to detail in terms of the furnishings of the comfortable rooms including the very clean bathrooms, as well as the excellent selection at the breakfast buffet, which leaves nothing to be desired. Please stay like this and don't change anything. Thank you very much for the unforgettable stay with you! We will be back!
