I stayed at the Guesthouse suites in the off season, for a week in early spring. The room was nice and the location was very convenient to the activities I'd planned from my family in the Newburyport area. However, I cannot recommend a stay until management challenges have been improved. The remote check in and limited staffing were very problematic for our stay and left us in a really stressful position to begin our trip. I arrived at 7:45 pm on a Sunday after a very long day of travels to find that the app used for check in said I was too early to check in (although check in was any time after 4). As suggested in the email I received that day, I refreshed the app several times until I received a check in code for the keypad entry system on the hotel room door (an external door). This code did not work. I attempted repeatedly until the key pad locked. At this point I called the number I was instructed to use for after hours issues, texted the number that I had received messages from earlier that day, and emailed the hotel account. I had no response or answer on any platform. My children were in the car, it was dark and cold out, and we had been traveling all day. The adjoining restaurant was closing for the evening (actually for several days, it didn't reopen until the following Wednesday) and after waiting an hour for response from the hotel, I called the restaurant and reached the general manager before he went home for the evening (the front door to the restaurant was already locked and the hotel office had closed at 4, before the earliest available check in time). The restaurant employee was also unable to gain entry to the room using the code provided and gave me a physical room key that was kept at the restaurant for my use throughout the stay. I did not feel comfortable sharing my check in code with the restaurant manager, not clear what relationship he had with the neighboring hotel, but saw no other choice. I did not hear back from hotel management until 10 the next morning, nearly 14 hours after my emergency inquiry!!! Had I not made contact with restaurant staff, I wouldn't have had a place for my children and I to stay that evening. Had I arrived just a bit later, after the restaurant closed for the evening (it must have been a slow night because the restaurant closed hours before their posted closing), or either of the next two nights when the restaurant was closed, I wouldn't have been able to get into my room at all. Hotel staff seemed to be available during abbreviated daytime hours - maybe 10 am to 4 pm- but I never interacted with them as we were busy during the days of our stay, except for key return. I had to wait until 10 am to depart on my checkout day because I didn't get checkout instructions for my key until that time (this wouldn't affect guests whose keypad entry worked). Additionally, the amenities in my reserved room did not match what was listed on the website for my actual room number. I called in advance to confir

I needed a one night stay to rest up before a family gathering. Called ahead and spoke with a very courteous and helpful manager Rachael. She walked me through the check in process and even texted me directly so my late, late check in (in the dark and the rain) was easy. The room, the bed and the nap were perfect. Thank you. Betsy

I have stayed at this fabulous little place twice this month as my daughter bought a new home nearby and is still in the process of moving in with her family. I can't find enough good things to say about this cute place, and especially, the Manager, Raychel. Who checks into a room and finds candy canes and little Christmas decorations to make one feel more at home because it's Christmas? I have never seen it anywhere. It's a very special personal touch....from a very special person who cares about her guests. The room is very comfortable and very, very quiet. The mattress is top quality and the duvets are cozy. The room has everything you need: (in room safe, Keurig coffee maker, mini frig stocked with water). Can't ask for anything more. The owners of this establishment are lucky to have such an amazing Manager in Raychel. I will come back often and recommend the location to all my friends.

We recently had to change our reservation date, and I spoke with Rachel, who handled it without any issues. Her professionalism and efficiency made the process seamless and stress-free. We greatly appreciated her prompt assistance and EXCELLENT customer service. This experience has made us even more confident in choosing The Inn at Ring's Island. Highly recommended!! Thank you again Rachel!!

I stayed here for a wedding and while the wedding, held else where, was amazing, this Inn didn’t really hold up to expectations or to the cost per night. There is no one working to help you with any issues, you can’t even enter the main lobby. All guests have to take out their own trash and according to their very strict policies, we were all paranoid about making sure everything was perfect before we left our rooms or else we would be charged. I understand this is a small Inn and not a chain owned hotel, but I feel like for the amount you pay, you shouldn’t be afraid that a missing hand towel will result in a 50$ charge. The rooms are nice and up to date so it was a comfortable stay except for the flood light of the parking lot for the bar behind the Inn flooded my room with light all night due to the very very thin shade. There is also only one parking spot per room and no extra parking. The website states addition guest can park down the street but its unclear if thats an additional parking lot or if they can just find their own spot down the street. Plus if you call to find out, chances are you missed the window of when the single employee is working. Overall I would not stay here again. It is not worth the price and if I wasn’t for the bride getting ready there the morning of, I wouldn’t have in the first place.

Overall a great experience, this was my second time here. I found the restaurant very nice! These are tough times, business-wise, so I understand the staffing shortages led to no daily housekeeping service. That was OK, we were able to contact a manager who provided a few more clean towels. So I only have two main suggestions: arrive at an agreement with the Bridge Marina that they will handle their dumpster, correctly closing it at the end of every day. We were awakened by the chortling of the laughing gulls as they feasted on the garbage directly near our room. The other thing was the sink drain, even after a little clearing it still requires pipe cleaning. But mostly a very pleasant stay!!

Lovely room - clean, well appointed, a bed you could stay in all day. Friendly, helpful owner and staff - everything I asked from additional bathroom stuff to directions was answered with a smile. Good parking and easy to walk into Newburyport. I will stay again.

Our room was wonderful, and right below the restaurant so we could hear the music from above. The room had all the amenities you would need including a Keurig and coffee pods! The bed was super comfy and the room was nicely decorated. The parking was extremely tight and we never moved our truck for fear we would not be able to get back into the tight space. The restaurant above, Portside was amazing and we ate their both nights of our stay. My only negative review is a result of incurring an additional $10 charge on our credit card. Susan the owner said one of the face towels was missing from our room so we were charged. We have NEVER, in all our travels, experienced this. We never took the towel and it wasn't in our luggage so we have no idea where it ended up. Something so small in insignificant can put a sour taste to the trip, and this certainly did! We most likely will never stay there again and will look for other lodging.

Was so looking forward to our trip and stay at Inn at Rings Island, our flight was cancelled , Had Reserved 2 rooms .Susan was always helpful but since it was Not my fault nor hers, A little kindness or help with the $ 500+ Bill. would have been really appreciated . You can pay 75.00 extra to rebook but you have to know the dates immediately, which is not alot of help if your flights are cancelled . So if flying , you never know if you can get there or not.
