Kambiri Beach by Serendib

Once we had a delicious customised food as per our taste & preferences by Chef Sanjay at Kambiri... this food experience attracted us to Kambiri for a stay ... and the Chef lived up to our expectations this time as well. We were in love with this well maintained vast property, which is a blend of forest and lake, foot trails with tree shades, blooming lotuses under the classic bridgeway, avenues for stunning photography, long beach and a clean swimming pool. Receptionist-Ms. Bert gave us a warm welcome and assistance as and when needed. We will recommend this resort to friends and family !!

Would not recommend The place is far from what the internet pictures depict-false advertising..The rooms,pool area and restaurant look nothing like the pictures,place was deserted and unkempt.The service in itself by the staff was poor.We decided not to check-in and asked for a refund which they refuse to give till today (unfair trading policies).Pro-tip do not pay in advance to secure your booking..get there first and decide if you still wanna stay

This is so beautiful lake front resort for family’s and friends .very large beach front with massive spaces and so much of nature and huge lands spaces-we enjoyed big and massive agriculture project and massive resort never seen in Malawi , the biggest Swming pool ever come a cross in lake Malawi truly massive and you never regret.. Excellent food varieties/ very good Indian food and Malawian food massive large landscaping to work around and foot-cycles available to ride around the resort and free of charge. Very attentive staff specially in Swming pool, The swimming pool attendants are very attentive and keep Swming pool very clean and tidy at all times, our kids love the place. Rooms are very clean and tidy never expected the quality and well kept, swimming pool bar surrounded by three different size of pools and we salute for thus concept.. Supervisors and management always around, thanks for front office peter zunduwe for his specials attention for our needs and thanks for all team members for continued care and service rendered to us. The rooms are comfortable. Nice televisons, with only DSTV advertising, no actually DSTV channels. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was terrible and most items on the menu are not available. Brought out the order wrong, but we decided, no worries we will just eat it. However it was the Worse sausages in Malawi, pink and artificaial,l! They had no bacon, even though we were assured they have, served us raw chips (that we did not order), old chicken wings (that we did not order). Simply terrible. The staff is nice enough, but nothing can make up for the food. Might stay there again, but without any meals.

In Malawi (Africa)!! We were a group of 19 people and were accommodated magnificently. We did not use the conference facility; in-fact it was closed; not sure if it was being dismantled or renovated. My room was clean and had a fridge, kettle & hairdryer . The shower was hot and room spacious. Bad termite issue in bathroom. Mosquito net was fine. The patio and view were amazing. It was during the dry season; had some mosquitoes but the barman sold a wonderfully smelling repellant. The food was plentiful and delicious. Vegetarian options available. Hope you like curry :) Pool looks prettier on the brochure - distance to the lake very walkable. There were electric blackouts; but a generator was available. Laundry service was excellent. The road to Kambiri was very, very bumpy but added to the adventure. Staff were friendly and helpful. Did not appreciate the kitchen supervisor and hotel manager making the chef with an injured hand wait 2 days before taking her to a clinic. I understand that we were a big group and that the show must go on; but at what cost? I hope the chef has recovered. I’m not sure I’ll ever make it back to Kambiri ; but it has a certain charm and I would recommend it. I thank them for their kindness; generosity and service for such a big group during our 10 day stay.

Room renovation was averagely done, the staff is so warm and provided excellent customer service. Selendib should change the shower curtains to silky white at-least. The walking distance to the bar/beach is just too much but Overall I enjoyed my stay.
