Pillo Rooms Serviced Apartments - Salford

Very clean. Spacious and close to transport links ect. However, there are no black out blinds and the 'blinds' here are all twisted and broken. Which has resulted on a very poor sleep for 5 days. Street light filled bedrooms at night and sun filled rooms at the crack of dawn. Also the bedroom lamps come on randomly at night so had to unplug them. I wouldn't return for these reasons, unless black out blinds were installed. I can't wait to go to have a good night's sleep.

Everthing was clean and property well maintained. There is no reception but this was fine as there were people on hand via message and the phone. Booked through airbnb. The apartment was well equipped, all the crockery needed was there and cooking utensils.

Do not stay here if female, it is in middle of industrial estate n feels very unsafe, I got to tge venue early as I usually do being a female traveller alone, I immediately felt unsafe, very limited parking, I contacted the team after 5 calls and explained my feelings, I asked if tge property was ready could I go in and see it? I was told they would check and email me, they did this and said it would be ready in 15 minutes at which point I would receive checking codes for the main door and key safe for apartment key, I thought fab this was around 1.30.... I received no info even after 45 minutes of requesting it, I was ignored until 2.55, 5 minutes before the normal check in time and told to follow the checking details in original booking! I got in the apartment, it smells of bleach, the space was very open and clinical but OK, I turned on tv NO signal all distorted no matter the chanel no signal unless I paid for netflix... I called 3 times and was told someone will get back to you, I said when, within the hour an engineer will call to come and see, I am a female travelling alone I am not letting a stranger in the apartment.... tired frustrated I got back in my car and drive the 2 hours home, I now have to drive the 2 hours back tomorrow at 05.30 to fulfil my commitments for work.... it is not fit for purpose if female and it does not give adequate details to females travelling alone. I am expecting a refund as I was in this apartment for 15 minutes tops .... I wonder if I will get one? An email has been sent to this effect

I really enjoyed my stay with Pillo Rooms! Amazing service, the staff were graceful when I accidentally left my keys inside the property and helped me get back inside. The appliances were clean and property was clean too and well maintained. Would stay again and recommend to others.

The residents who stay here are constantly dumping rubbish outside onto the street without a care for the other local residents or volunteers who work hard to try and keep this area clean. FILTHY ANIMALS

Booked this ‘Aparthotel’ via a popular Hotel site. Thought it would make a change from the usual hotel rooms that I stay away in on business. After booking, I received emails demanding details of my age, why I was staying and proof of ID… …I was expecting to be asked for my inside leg measurement too at some point! They then wanted a £99 deposit, (despite paying for the accommodation upfront) to apparently cover any damage. This is apparently being refunded after my stay, but it could take up to 14 days, which apparently is down to the bank… ….hmmm. The place is located in a fairly rough area of Salford and there is no car parking (despite claims that there is) – it’s purely street parking only. I was very nervous about leaving my car overnight in the area. There are plenty of kebab and pizza takeaways adjacent to the accommodation. Initial impressions upon arrival are not great, as the outside of the Aparthotel was strewn with rubbish, large waste bins were in the street and loads of weeds were growing around the outside of the building. It certainly does not look as nice in reality as it does on the website. Although there was no front desk, I received an email from the Pillo Team informing me of the front door code and keysafe code to get into the room/apartment. This process was fine and I had no issues with this at all. First thoughts when entering is that there was lots of space and it looked modern and pretty stylish… …my opinions soon changed upon closer inspection. The place is frankly grotty! The walls are grimy, marked and in desperate need of repainting. The shower was mouldy and the handbasin was grotsville with an odd hole in the wall above it for some reason?! The tap also was not secured to the basin and moved every time you used a tap. The pics don’t capture the general feeling of grubbiness. I slept in my clothes and didn’t want to use the shower either! I regret not doing better research before booking this place and hopefully this review will help others not to be ****** into thinking that it’s a cool place to stay in trendy Salford. It most certainly is not…

The space was okay but felt like I was staying in a half done up property. The amenities suggested fully equipped kitchen but we could not find any cutlery at all which was a shame. The bed was comfortable to sleep on and the little welcome stuff on the bed was cute but the walls looked dampy to me so was not really feeling it. Bathroom was nice and clean. The TV was far too small and the couch was not comfortable at all so I ended up watching youtube on my Ipad in bed. We were situated on the ground floor and could hear the traffic clear as day and people walking past which felt like they could see me in a way. Woke up to the sound of a crack head screaming her head off outside. Other than bathroom and comfort level, I do not see the hype for what I paid. I would not stay here again unless I absolutley had to.
