El Rancho de Salento

Other TA reviews giving this Hacienda 4-5 stars must be kids whom are used to youth hostels. I travel 180+ days per year and this is the real assessment. This Hacienda is located out of town and offers no dinner service so you are stuck unless you order in and have delivery. The rooms have no windows and wood doors with zero sound privacy. If you happen to get a room like we did near the main area, you get to listen to the staff all night making noise and there is zero (I mean ZERO) sound proofing. Rooms have no heat and no A/C so I hope you like to sweat all night. There was no hot water in the showers, and the sink does not even offer the opportunity to get hot water so good luck shaving. The bed is tiny (maybe double???) so for a couple like us near impossible to sleep (beyond the loud noise all night.) Bed is also hard like a futon so have fun sleeping on slats. Breakfast was terrible...I ordered scrambled eggs and sausage and sausage it hot dogs... Cannot at all recommend....steer clear.

We had a fantastic stay! The place is located in a very peaceful area in the area just outside Salento. It is very easy to reach town taking the bus just outside the accommodation (every 10 minutes, 0.50$) or with a jeep that they can call for you (5$). Camilo was a great host and speaks English very well, he really did anything he could to make our stay special! Thank you!

The ranch is on a beautiful property just outside of salento. It is so peaceful and serine, it feel like a little spot of heaven. The Roommwe were in had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and an AMAZING view of the countryside. I loved every second of our stay. I really regret not speaking Spanish very well because the owners and everyone working around the ranch are so kind and forthcoming and were worried about our well-being. It was such an amazing stay. Also the dogs on the property were so freaking cute, and one is due to have babies very soon ( just sayin)

We loved our time on the ranch. Upon arrival we were greeted by three gorgeous dogs. Carlos and his family are beautiful people, both inside and out, they were wonderful in meeting our needs. We had chance to go horse riding whilst staying on the ranch. Couldn't recommend this stay enough. Thank you so much!

Unfortunately one cannot rate it 6 stars, or 7. Because Alberto and his crew deserve it! The place is gorgeous, the buildings are colourful and beautiful and, once outside, the view is astonishing. The rooms are ultra comfortable, breakfast is great and, above all, Alberto and the people working there are just flawlessly devoted to creating the best atmosphere possible. I was very sad for leaving this paradise. Thank you Alberto for the experience.
