We stayed for several days while we hunted for a house. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean and neat. We left some items and they will hold them for us tell we return to close on house. I do plan on staying there again when we close.

We visited the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Salem traveling from Connecticut to Florida. We have stayed here before and found the location to be an easy on and off. Honestly I have found this hotel to have been better in the past than recently. Pros- easy on and off highway. Desk ladies are very nice and efficient. Lobby appeared to be clean. Breakfast area is nice and the breakfast offerings are pretty good overall and compared to other hotels. Cons- no chair to sit on in the room to relax, desk chair had tears and rips, ac unit very loud using it on heat, bed was a bit lumpy and sheets though clean were worn, mold in the corners in the shower (suggestion- use bleach to get rid of and vinegar to keep away) and not many amenities in the room such as makeup remover sheets, shower cap and more than one small bottle of lotion and no shower bars. Though it does need updating we will probably use again as the other hotels have worse reviews.

Newer clean property with comfy quiet room. Conveniently located near interstate. Ample parking spaces for no additional charge. Typical breakfast buffet. Overall comfy weekend stay when passing through Virginia. Would stay here again.

Typical Fairfield. However, we were told at check in that the pool was closed for renovations. We are traveling with our 3 grandchildren who were really excited about spending time in the pool. We were told we could drive to their sister hotel "Holiday Inn Express" and use their pool. What an inconvenience. I would be much more understanding if there had been a notice on their website. Nothing was said prior to showing up at the hotel. Imagine 2 hotel customers using one pool designed for one hotel. Communication is King, folks.

Everything awesome. Friendly staff! Welcoming! Clean. We did not do much except sleep but the hotel is perfect because it is close to the Appalachian Trail. We were up early to hike. Only an 11 minute drive to trail head parking. Super convenient!

Hey - do you like to be greeted when you check in by some guy named Anthony how has mega attitude? Do you want to get 32 excuses when something doesn’t work and they are not gonna fix the issue? Then this is the place for you! Pitiful excuse for breakfast and the dude in charge of breakfast had the kahuna’s to put out a tip jar! Stay somewhere else.

Stayed here on 15 November 2022. Hotel is clean and reception staff were friendly on check in. I’m docking two points. Firstly the a/c was on when we got to the room and the room was like ice. We spent an hour in coats under the covers until it warmed up. Secondly, I wanted some hot tea at breakfast so checked in the cupboards for tea bags as there were none on display and no one around, a breakfast guy arrived and said ‘can I help you?’. I said ‘I’m looking for teabags’. He said abruptly ‘We don’t have any’. Wait what, no tea bags and an unfriendly attitude in a morning! The same guy appeared on reception later and checked us out abruptly - we all have bad days I guess. Hotel is ok, it does what it says on the tin but a little bit more attention to detail would make a difference.

We stayed here just one night and were pleased with our stay. We were promptly greeted by very friendly and efficient hotel staff on our arrival. While the 2-queen-beds room was small, it was clean and met all our needs. A comfortable chair would have been nice to have in the room if space allowed. The included breakfast was very good. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

My wife and I were traveling north on route 81 in Virginia, it was getting late, and we needed to find a good motel and picked Fairfield Inn. My wife needs a handicap room and the one we were given was fine. Right off the elevator and a shower with a seat. Worked out OK for us. Everyone was nice and friendly, but we did have one complaint, the breakfast was from 6 to 9 am and at exactly 9 am the whole breakfast was removed from the breakfast area. We came down in time but other people were there at 8:50 and had nothing to eat.
