OYO Cornerstone Manor Hotel

A good stay at the Cornerstones Guest House A very good stay, the room was clean and spacious, the bathroom was clean and had natural ventilation, the bed was comfortable. The guest house was close to the centre of Sale and was easy to get to the bars and restaurants. We would recommend staying there and if we come back to Sale we would stay here again

Useful find Conveniently located and comfortable. Check-in is remote, which I hadn't noticed before arriving at a locked door, but a phone call was immediately answered with all I needed to know, phew! 2 sachets of milk for a three-night stay.

Quirky house & very quiet. Struggled to find it as parking was on a different road at the back. I think was supposed to be a shared bathroom but found a newly installed one in the room. Apart from not being able to get the shower warm enough all good 😊

Very disappointed!! I appreciate I booked a budget room and did not get expect luxury however , my experience was awful. Check in was confusing , I was given a lock box code and told to take my key but there were several room keys so did not know which one - fortunately, someone did come to my assistance and they were pleasant enough but gave little info as to whether breakfast was included or even an option to pay for. My room was absolutely freezing . Whilst I appreciate it’s been a lovely weekend weather wise in Manchester, it’s April the nights and mornings are cold , this is an old house and needs an occasional blast of heat to ensure it’s comfortable. When I came back from an evening out it was in complete darkness so I had to navigate my way in pitch black up the stairs to my room , I tripped and fell which Resulted in a large bruise , fortunately I did find a light switch once I have made it up the stairs . The TV in the room did not work and neither did one of the limited plug sockets . It was all very eerie as I didn’t see another single person for the remainder of my stay . The place is in a fantastic location and has the potential to be cosy and inviting however needs some serious money spending on it . I was booked on Friday and Saturday however , had to leave on Sat evening and check into the premier inn as was not enjoying it one bit

I have been to many hotels/guesthouses and I make sure they are 4 star minimum. I fail to understand how this is a 4 star accommodation. I booked for 2 nights, I entered the building to check in and rules were being told to me. ‘You cannot eat fast food in your room we ask you kindly to eat in the cafe where cutlery is provided’… very unusual for a 4 star not to let you eat in your room. Now the room, it had a runner on top for show but on closer inspection it felt like it had it’s been used a few times unwashed from the looks. The en suite the washroom smelt AWFUL gutter smell ..DISGUSTING. So now here comes the most serious and unprofessional part. Check out time was 10.30am. My wife and I were staying in the accommodation, I was showering and the owner knocked on 10.30 sharp at the door, my wife opened whilst I was in the shower and he tapped his watch and said time to check out. My wife said just a moment, I came out at 10.40 and then the owner knocked on the door and was shouting you are 15 minutes overtime and knocking on the door saying time to leave. My wife opened the door just to say we are closing bags and leaving he was force opening the door and said let me see and my wife was preventing him coming. 15 mins later he comes again storms in and says time to leave and lifts a hand luggage out of the room and being shouted out LEAVE and being tagged as IRRESPONSIBLE’ I was shocked, It felt like the owner was letting me live for free and now kicking me out! V.BAD

4 night stay I stayed for 4 nights; the price was similar to a chain hotel but a much nicer experience. Tony was a very welcoming and helpful host, the room was beautifully decorated and I would also highly recommend the breakfast. If driving just bear in mind that the car park is not accessed off Washway Road but via A6144 then Harboro Road (there's plenty of space once you've found it)
