Excellent accueil, chaleureuse ambiance de chalet de montagne , petits déjeuners buffets parfaits merci Maria, cuisine gourmande du patron très appréciée des touristes et des locaux. Le cochon de lait, la tarte aux myrtilles...Direction et personnel aux petits soins Terrasse ou salle pour le diner. On reviendra en hiver pour les hors pistes. On a fait le lac du clou, le refuge du ruitor Avec la stèle du cdt Marmier , le lac de la sassiere au dessus de chevril. Inoubliable. Mention speciale : le persillé de chèvre du monal Acheté à la ferme. Introuvable ailleurs. L hôtel le monal ,une étape incontournable en tarentaise, une institution, respect. RLM

Information qui ne nous a pas été communiquée avant notre séjour : chaque samedi soir, l'hotel organise (essentiellement pour sa clientèle locale) des soirées DJ qui débutent sur le roof top et se terminent tard dans la nuit sur la terrasse extérieure. Donc si vous souhaitez dormir, bon courage à vous. Pas de clim et impossible d'ouvrir les fenêtres à cause du bruit des fêtards. Lorsque vous en faites réclamation, la direction vous explique par mail le lendemain que vous n'avez pas compris le concept... Si au contraire nous avons très bien compris le concept : tout est bon pour faire de l'argent quitte à réunir dans un même lieu des clients aux attentes opposées et non compatibles.

J’arrive fin juin en moto à Val d’Isère, tous les hôtels sont fermés, petite pluie fine, atmosphère lugubre, la personne de l’office du tourisme désolée me dit d’essayer le Monal à 10 km. La pluie s’arrête quand j’arrive, c’est la soirée des Anglais. Ambiance formidable sur le rooftop avec tous les cocktails possibles et imaginables, traders en provenance de Londres en bermudas fluo venus rejoindre leur femme pour faire la fête, chambres à prix raisonnable, carte du restaurant riche et plats très convenables. En fait, j’y retourne dès que je fais un tour par là, en choisissant si possible le soir de la fête sur le rooftop. Je comprends que ça ne plaise pas à tous, je ne suis pas un fêtard avide d’afters mais c’est vraiment un bel endroit, avec magnifique vue sur la montagne.

Séjour parfait au Monal !
Navette gratuite juste en face de l’hôtel pour monter aux pistes, c’est très pratique.
