Holiday Inn ST. Petersburg West

Hotel located far from the beaches and airport, the hotel staff do not care when you need breakfast ( look always busy) food not good they charge per order.

Place was okay, but i was told they had a shuttle, and when I called to book same, they told me the shuttle was no more. I'm taking my complaint to the bank and if they provide no remedy I am taking my complaint to the BBB of Florida. They lied to me. And left me with no way to get to the hotel

On arrival we felt an ' inconvenience ' although pleasant the receptionist was on a video phone call. She delt with us why asking the call to 'hold on' !! Not very professional & what one would expect from The Holiday Inn . I couldn't tell Holiday Inn staff apart from the guests as there was no ' smart Holiday Inn uniform like they used to wear . I think they wore a badge to identify they worked here. The room on 4th floor was 'ok' the bed was super comfy . We reported the grab rail in the bathroom broken the next morning. I didn't realise that evening when I went to use it from getting outa the bath ! In the time we stayed ( 2 days ) it was not repaired! No tea making facilities, why is that ?? We British like tea! Even at breakfast , all coffee & creamers ( yuck) Breakfast was not what we expected as in a buffet style. It was of a menu card & our choice was brought to the table by a most charming lady. Eggs cooked as you want basicly !! The pool is lovely , although littered with used towels & full bins full of beer cans although food & drink supposedly not allowed around the pool & a huge sign states that on the wall. Our time was spoilt around it by some people drinking alcohol IN the pool , swearing & just got louder as the day went on. They had glass bottles & I felt this unacceptable as should any get broken , I wouldn't want to be the one to get my feet cut with broken glass. & adjacent to a child's pool also is not ideal. I spoke to a manager asking as I was following the ' pool rules' if it's acceptable to bring our beer down from our room ?? She said it's OK to bring drink around the pool as long as its in a bag!!! Mmmmmm !!!! On the whole we felt undervalued & would look to stay at another brand hotel if this is now the Holiday Inn norm.

I had to give it one to leave a review I would NOT have given it 1 star. Paid about $150 a night and are a IHG One Reward member Room #229 had bedbugs and roaches. Room smelled awful and was NOT clean. Bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Told front desk daily of our issues and was told if we left we would still be charged balance of stay. Was also told no manager available but front desk ladies would give them our message. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE, take your business elsewhere.

The room was clean and spacious. We were especially impressed with Sergio at the front desk as he was so friendly and helpful during our three day stay. He is the star of that hotel. We weren’t so happy with the restaurant. We ate there for breakfast a few times and even though the menu was limited they were missing key items and delivery of the food was S L O W and arrived lukewarm. It seemed like everyone was trying but management should take a look at the operation of that service.

Overall this is a pleasant building. But neither the room nor the “restaurant” were what I consider Holiday Inn standards. The room was tiny with a trundle bed that wasn’t in the least bit comfortable as a sofa. The mattress was way too soft. The “air conditioner” was a noise machine that didn’t seem to change the temperature or sound no matter which temperature we set the thermostat for. The “desk” was a table slipped under a shelf. It had to be pulled out towards the bed, blocking passage, to let a laptop be opened. We did a lot of getting up to let each other by. (Rm 411). We asked for the AC to be fixed but it wasn’t. The Breakfast was limited. Oh, and you can get two pancakes, but not just one? At least coffee (just one pot, no decaf or hot water for tea) was at no extra charge. But - the building was clean, the staff, including housekeeping, was as pleasant as they could be, and the parking was free. Nice fitness room and outdoor pool.

Pleasantly surprised, I give a top review. First off great price. Everyone was genuinely nice and engaging to talk to. Thankful for their accommodations im disabled and was early and needed to rest and they were able to get me into a room early and then ensure I have the latest checkout to rest before going to the airport. Also having a restaurant on premises was a must and the food was good. Small menu but very satisfying. The room was super cute, clean , fresh and hip. I didn't even have to order extra pillows more then enough and the beds were very comfortable. This will be my hotel from now on when I come back to town.

I had a great day at the Holiday inn in St Petersburg. My room was very clean. The pool and hot tub were great. I enjoyed the restaurant. The location was within just a few minutes of all the main sites in St Petersburg.
