The room was clean. Wi-Fi worked well. No shampoo or conditioner provided. 7-8 minutes walk from the town center and bus stop. The staff were friendly.

A Lovely Hotel, Unashamed of Its Age and History We enjoyed our stay. Yes, the hotel is old-fashioned,in that it's not all stainless steel, glass and fake marble. It's in a historic house, and you really get that feeling, which we enjoyed. Staff were pleasant and efficient. We had a twin room with an uninspiring view of the Reception area's roof, but you can't win 'em all. Everything was clean. And we really enjoyed the pool area, with hot tub, sauna and steam room. It was very clean and - doubtless because of the time of year - we had it almost to ourselves most visits. Great! We ate twice in the Copenhagen restaurant and can recommend it. Plus, they do very good breakfasts. The bar area gets crowded in the evening and it was quite intimidating walking in to book a table for dinner; but it can't be helped. On one day, there was a major electrical problem with our bathroom, which led to a night of poor sleep, which left me feeling shattered - which was unfortunate because although we were on a largely leisure trip, we did have an important meeting the next day. But the management handled the situation very well. We walked into St Peter Port centre and back and although there's a bit of a hill, it's no big deal. We would happily return to the de Havelet hotel.. Next time in the hope of a room with some kind of view, because if you get the right angle, there are some lovely views from this spot.
