Campanile Arras - Saint Nicolas

I arrived very hungry, Monday evening around 19.00, the restaurant wasn't open, it said when I booked it, that it was, I had to walk 35 minutes into Arras, then pay €20, for a taxi back, after dinner.

Booked for 1 night ... first impressions were grim. Looked scruffy from the outside and was amongst an industrial site. Our room at the back on ground floor. Entering the room these are the negatives. Room had an awful odour, smelt damp and dirty. Carpet was in desperate need of a good shampoo and hoover. Cobwebs plentiful. Curtains filthy. Toilet hadn't been cleaned, stained with pee. Towels smelt awful. Work surface stained. Skirting boards near the hanging space, had dark brown stains in several places.Unsure what this was. Kettle was on a tray, good job, as when we used it..it leaked water. Alot of upstairs noisy activity til very late. The Positives. Shower tray reasonably clean. Bed linen looked clean. However, due to the state of the room, we pulled the bed out to check for bed bugs, thankfully didn't find anything. Left very early next morning, to get breakfast elsewhere and continue our journey. Couldn't face having food there. Management need to address the presentation and cleanliness of this place... and speak to the cleaners they employ. The cleaners need to up their standards. Definitely not worth the price we paid and will never use this place again.
