Great place for fall getaway (as well as summer with pool and hot tub) lots of space outside to relax for mingling or private conversation. Breakfasts are thoughtfully prepared and Yummy. My room was very clean, spacious with lots or sitting space and period correct furnishings . The bed was very comfortable with fine hotel quality mattress. The owner has a wealth of knowledge on this historic property and graciously shared its history and renovations. While it’s a very short distance to town you don’t have the road or tourist noise that the town could have. Other rarely found amenities include bicycles for guests use.

Comfortable. Friendly. Easy living. Lovely outdoor settings. Very comfortable bed. Sort of like being w family. We enjoyed many local opportunities and all were close to the b and b. Innkeeper offers reduced tickets to several sites. Close to town and easy to find. The Martins.

We’ve stayed at the George Brooks House on many occasions over the years and it’s always proved to be an exceptionable experience that brings us back time after time. With a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, you will be surrounded by beautiful gardens, a pool, and extraordinary hospitality. This beautiful historic Inn is a short distance from downtown St. Micheals with its rich history, restaurants, breweries, and Chesapeake Bay adventures. The Innkeeper, Will Workman has extensive knowledge of the area and is an excellent storyteller. Ask him to tell you the story of the inn at breakfast! Our stays have without a doubt created many memories.

We are return customers in summer and winter to Innkeeper Will's beautiful, historic property. Will serves a delicious breakfast, maintains the expansive grounds, keeps the vibe of the historic home, and offers a summer highlight, the pool. The b&b is walkable to town, yet serene and away from any town activities. Come to this spot if you want peace and quiet, charm, good food, and a unique, safe place to stay. Will has great recommendations for activities and dining, too.

This is a beautiful historic home in a private setting with lovely landscaping, pool and Jacuzzi. Our family was very comfortable here with the freedom to go all over the house and estate. The breakfasts were gourmet quality, served in an elegant dinning atmosphere, very relaxing. The history of this home was fascinating with a photo album showing the amazing architectural improvements. The attention to vintage detail was wonderful. The owner Mr.Will Workman took extra time to guarantee you have a pleasant stay. His quality chef skills were appreciated. The well stocked refreshments were greatly appreciated. We look forward to staying there again.

I stayed at the B&B a weekend in May 2024, same group as Laura F (see review) the ‘gals’ that the owner referred to in his response. I will start by saying I sadly echo Laura’s experience and review. Upon checking in and looking around you could tell that the B&B was in varying degrees of disrepair and disarray depending on what room you were in and where you looked. There was at least one bowl out catching water in the hallway on the first/main floor you walk into, being a floor below and not directly below where the alleged ‘dehumidifier’ issue was doubtful this was related to the alleged dehumidifier but speaks to various and possibly unrelated water issues. We quickly realized there was an issue with one of the three rooms we had reserved when one of the five in our group slipped (nearly falling) on water at the entrance of the room. As Laura stated we immediately alerted the owner. It quickly became evident that there was a strong mold/mildew type odor in all three rooms, which I would guess to venture doesn’t come from a new/active situation but speaks more to ongoing issues with water. There was also visible mold in at least 2/3 of the rooms. We notified the Owner it seemed to us he was more frustrated with us doing so then concerned for our safety or overall experience. Given the active leak in the one room we decided to condense into the two remaining rooms. Trying to make the best out of the experience by not letting the conditions of the B&B or the response of the owner ruin a weekend we had planned 10+ months prior and had been very much looking forward to we headed out to a late dinner. Upon returning we found not only had the leak in the one room gotten much worse, to the point that the ceiling looked as if it might collapse but that a second room had begun to leak. Realizing how much the water issue had progressed in the short time that we had been at dinner I called the owner to ask for the inflatable mattress he had previously offered, which given the state of the leak at that point we had declined, when faced with having to condense into one room possibly we were left with little options. The owner seemed extremely bothered that we were calling and even snapped back that he thought we didn’t want the mattress, I explained how much the leak had progressed and that as the situation had changed so had our plan (see Laura’s review water coming from the smoke detector, ceiling leaking even more, etc.). The owner was extremely unprofessional making several audible sighs on the phone during the course of our conversation, I even offered to look for the mattress or get it myself to which the owner responded that he didn’t know where it was and would have to come in right before hanging up on me without saying bye or anything to that like. We kept the owner updated throughout the course of our stay as the water and potential damage to his property progressed, we assumed (perhaps incorrectly so given the state of the property) that

I’ve gone back and forth on whether or not to write this review (particularly since I’ve noticed that the inn keeper, William, is often combative with negative reviews and tries to spin the narrative about problematic guests) but I feel like I would have wanted to have this information before booking George Brooks House. I along with 4 friends were in town for the St. Michael’s Running Festival. Upon check in, I noticed a Tupperware bowl catching leaks from the ceiling of the main lobby. The place was clearly not kept up, as cracked/peeled paint was EVERYWHERE, as was a strong musty/mildew smell. We were shown to our rooms and immediately noticed the cracked sealing and dripping water coming from the entry way of one of our 3 rooms. We alerted William, who claimed this was brand new information. He offered a blow up mattress to accommodate 3 of us in a 2 person room. My two sisters and I decided we would all share a room to avoid the water dripping and potential mold in the damaged entryway. We, along with two other friends went to dinner and returned around 10pm. When we entered our room we saw a huge water spot on our ceiling with water dripping, almost at the foot of the bed. We were disgusted, but being so late at night and having to be up early for the race the next day, we decided to let it go and wait to deal with it until the morning. None of us slept, as we could hear the water drip, drip, drip into the trash bin we set out ALL night, even after we put a towel inside to absorb some of the drops. At one point water was leaking through the smoke detector. I can’t imagine that’s safe. After our race the next morning we mentioned the leak to William but decided to get cleaned up first before he came up to assess. I couldn’t even take a shower in my room because the top of the shower and vent were so covered in mold. I ended up using the shower in a friends room. We went to get lunch before deciding if we were going to stay or try to find other accommodations. Unfortunately, due to the running festival, there was nothing available. While at lunch, William called and said that he had someone who wanted to rent one of our unused rooms and asked us to decide which two rooms we wanted to accommodate the 5 of us. He said that he would refund one room, but at this point our stay was so miserable that I don’t feel that was sufficient. We elected to stay in the room with the leaking entryway, because at least it wasn’t dripping next to the bed. The extra room he was going to “rent out” stayed empty with the door wide open into the elements all night into the next morning. Long story short, we were looking forward to a fun girls weekend with the running festival. We ended up at the Bates motel. Rusty paint cans by the common area, missing light switch covers, leaks everywhere, and don’t even get me started on the “pool”. (Yes I understand it wasn’t open until the following week, but good luck getting rid of that filth in a week). I know Willi

Highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast. Will- owner picked me up at the marina and drove me to and from his place in a Tesla. Very clean property on multiple acres. Beautiful yard with massive garden and very large pool, stone deck/patio. Built in bar, multiple lounge areas. Breakfast was made from scratch each morning and his house is a rebuilt hisdtoric property. The house is very large- two story with large common rooms to hang out. Lots of windows and very bright in all rooms, common areas. My room was spotless-clean. Free bikes, multiple toys to use. Call the BnB directly and get a much better rate than you'll find on travel site. Will is an excellent inn keeper. Note this property is less than 1/4 to 1/2 mile outside of town. 1/8 mile from Maritime Museum all in a wooded area. Quiet!! I walked from town, biked it- no issues. It's a much better deal every day than anything in town for it's size, pool, multiple rooms, breakfast and overall well appointed furnishings. Definite 5 out of 5. I've stayed all over St Michaels and this can't be beat.

If you visit St. Michael's, the George Brooks House B&B Inn is the place to stay. Close enough to town to ride the free bikes to town but a few blocks north for the peace, quiet and nature is the way to go. You cannot go wrong with a beautiful home, beautiful rooms and the most knowledgeable Inn Keeper you could imagine. The History of George Brooks, the Inn and the oyster industry was well explained by Mr. Will as we ate the most delicious breakfast prepared by the Inn Keeper. There is a beautiful inground pool to enjoy or just sit on your private deck. You have a gas fireplace and an exception tailored room to relax and fall asleep in. We will be back for a longer stay or even an abbreviated vacation here as we loved St. Michaels and The George Brooks House B&B Inn.
