The Rising Sun

Great place to stay in St Mawes. Excellent well thought out room (more like a suit with separate sitting area) Two tvs, low level movement activated light in bathroom, big walk in shower, plenty of sockets and mirrors in the right places, free wi fi Good food good choice for breakfast. Option to have a child size full English which was OK for me. Friendly staff. Public car park adjacent the hotel £7 for 24 hours. Would book again without doubt.

We had two nights in this lovely establishment. Stayed in a room with a sea view in the main building with a huge bath and walk in shower. Some lovely touches and quality products, drinks and snacks. Staff were friendly and attentive and breakfast was top class. We also had Sunday Lunch and an evening meal in the restaurant and both were amazing. All in all couldn’t fault anything and would definitely recommend - well deserving of the 5 * review

What a lovely stay! We only stayed for the one night but what a lovely night it was, got there early so went on the circular walk to st just in roseland (where there is the most gorgeous church) and back before exploring the quaint St mawes and checking in. The staff were so friendly upon check in and the staff were beyond lovely for the entire stay. We had a room that looked out over the harbour, it's slightly more expensive but so worth that bit extra for the amazing view, especially when we woke up to a stormy morning with the waves crashing over the harbour wall and almost up to the building itself, I could have honestly stayed there all day just storm watching. The room was gorgeously decorated with all the amenities you could ask for and the bath was delightful and so big (I'm a tall guy so I never get baths I can fully lay down in) that it was perfect to relax in after a long walk. Breakfast was fantastic as well! I couldn't fault a single thing, we are eager to come back very soon! Thank you to the Rising sun team for such a lovely stay.

The food was superb, very much restaurant rather than pub grub, but at very fair prices. Good beer too, as befits a good pub. Very friendly and efficient service. They lit a log fire for us in the lounge one cold morning, and we could not have been happier We've stayed many times before, and the accommodation was as good as ever.

We had such a nice stay. It was only one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The beds were so comfy and the room had everything we could have needed. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner in the restaurant. The breakfast menu was also delicious. Many thanks to the team at The Rising Sun.

Great place with wonderful staff and food! Rooms are amazingly equipped. This Inn is the heart of the village. It is busy even when other establishments are not. The staff are wonderful - nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are better equipped than many 4* hotels.
