A bit out of the way but how worth it! The site is lovely in its natural state by the lake. The inn doesn't look like much from the outside but the rooms are lovely, modern and with great amenities. But what makes l'Auberge Saint-Mathieu exceptional is the restaurant. A spectacular culinary adventure awaits. Taking the 8 course sevice is definitely worth it. Each plate offers a feast for the eyes and taste buds. Kuddos to the chef, brigade and staff. This place is a real gem.

Nous retournons chaque année à l'auberge Saint-Mathieu pour y vivre une expérience gastronomique digne des plus grands restaurants. Le menu dégustation 8 services de même que l'accord mets-vins sont divins. Le menu change à chaque saison et ça vaut la peine d'y retourner à des saisons différentes. De plus, la vue sur le lac, avec coucher de soleil, est magnifique. Les chambres sont confortables, très propres et ont un petit côté rustique.

Séjour d'amoureux à l'Auberge. Chambre rénovée très confortable. Expérience gastronomique incroyable. Personnel très gentils. Nous avons discuté avec un des propriétaires qui est très passionné. Petit souci avec la chambre qui a été vite réglé.

Une expérience gastronomique exceptionnelle du début à la fin. Le forfait 8 services était sublime et que dire de ses accords vin qui nous ont fait voyager tout autour de la planète. Le service était impeccable et tout le personnel avenant. Les chambres étaient confortables et la vue sur le lac était de toute beauté.

We found this restaurant in a guide to the 100 best places to eat in Canada and it doesn’t disappoint. First, the good (and main part): my wife and I had the excellent eight course tasting menu with eight different matching wines and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The ambience was soft and quiet, the service excellent. Of the eight courses, four were superb, two good, one ok and one not so good, which is pretty much what we were expecting. There’s no way one person is going to love all eight courses and the main ones did not disappoint. We left the table feeling comfortably full, not stuffed, and not drunk at all, which is remarkable given how much we had consumed. The rooms though are a different story. The inn is wooden and doesn’t have much insulation so you can hear other guests clattering around and talking in the corridors etc. So if like me you are a light sleeper, I’d recommend ear plugs. Overall though we are very happy we went.

Mon meilleur repas de cette année. Cuisine subtile, menu inventif, équilibré et surprenant, service pro et détendu. Accord non alcoolisé remarquable d'invention et de précision. 3 heures de grand plaisir. Ambiance agréable, prix raisonnables.

J'aI choisi cette auberge pour savourer le 17 août le souper 8 services préparé par le chef Samy Benabed et je le confirme c'est une des plus belles expériences à un très bon prix. Vous n'allez pas à cette auberge en vous basant sur votre chambre (très petite, pas de télévision mais très accueillante)
